In addition to his own music, Simon has produced artists both in London and New York. He has performed with numerous established acts ranging from Jeff Beck to Pearl Jam, and including elder brother Pete Townshend, with notable song writing and vocal contributions to Iron Man and Psychoderelict. Other credits include 15 years as guitarist and vocalist in The Who, playing sold out tours of Europe, Asia and North America, and a monumental performance at the 2010 Super Bowl. He was referred to by one U.S. newspaper as The Who’s “secret weapon.” In 2004 Simon served as producer for The Who’s first new, original studio recordings in more than 20 years and in 2006 contributed his talents to their highly anticipated album, Endless Wire. Since 2009, Simon has accompanied Roger Daltrey on tours of the United Kingdom and North America, including a stint with Eric Clapton. A highpoint of these shows features Simon’s electrifying performance of The Who classic, Goin’ Mobile, which consistently brings the cheering crowd to their feet. Simon once again is touring with The Who during the band's 2012-2013 "Quadrophenia and More" US Tour.
Simon Townshend’s own music is his priority and it has made a significant impact. As brother Pete Townshend told London’s Daily Mail, “he’s brilliant.” British and American papers have variously described his songs and performances as …
◦“supercharged hard rock…Mr. Townshend pushes the band to climax upon climax” (The New York Times)
◦“buoyant melodies…soaring vocal harmonies,… irresistible chorus hooks pushed and pulled by the refreshing optimism of Simon’s voice” (The Washington Post)
◦“impressive” (Billboard)
◦“really pushes the envelope and is highly recommended” (Amplifier)
◦“wonderful melodic punch…truly enjoyable listening” (Goldmine)
◦a “catharsis” (The Los Angeles Times)
In short, as London’s Gig Guide said, “you would be a fool to miss them.”
A prolific composer over the last decade and Who sideman, Simon Townshend continues to write, create and perform his unique and charismatic work as well as provide support to some of rock music’s ultimate legends. Until Tomorrow
Simon Townshend Lyrics

Slowly it all sinks in, wrinkles of time settle on the skin
Suddenly all appears, all that you were faded in the years
But as each day goes by, the more I can hide in my youth, for excuse
Until tomorrow, until the next time, until whenever, I'll wait forever
Once there was part of me, locked up inside fighting to be free
I'll bottle resent somehow
'Cause if I knew then what I know now
Cause the reason for that led to this, just to exist
Until tomorrow until the next time, until whenever I'll wait forever
I've got ambition a plan and mission
And all the time in the world to see it happen
Search for the reason I was
Hurt by the treason I got
Learn from the season that shot away
Live for the day
Until tomorrow until the next time until whenever, I'll wait forever
I'll turn the tables, unpin the labels
I'll get myself out of bed, keeping my eyes up ahead
Until tomorrow, until tomorrow
So I'll tow the line, make up my mind and leave it behind until tomorrow
I'll tow the line until tomorrow
The lyrics of Simon Townshend's song "Until Tomorrow" describe someone who is struggling to come to terms with the passing of time and the consequences of their actions. The first two lines of the song "I'll tow the line, make up my mind and leave it behind until tomorrow" suggest that the individual is running away from their problems, unresolved issues and difficult decisions, procrastinating and postponing any action until the following day. However, as time goes by, the weight of their choices becomes more apparent on their skin, in the form of wrinkles, and they start to reflect on their past, wondering if they had made different choices if the outcome would have been better.
The song talks about the regret of not being able to change the past, but also the hope of a better future. The lyrics "but you must never look back cause the reason for that led to this, just to exist" suggest that although the character may have made some poor decisions, it is essential to recognize that these actions have led them to their current moment of existence. The song also speaks about their determination and ambition to make a difference in their life and not let their past define them, embodied in the lines "I've got ambition a plan and mission, and all the time in the world to see it happen."
Overall, "Until Tomorrow" is a hopeful yet melancholic song that speaks about the struggle of accepting the past, learning from the mistakes, and moving forward towards a better future.
