Blood Type 0
Simple Minds Lyrics

It's all so mediocre anyway.
Take me down unto your road where I could filter through the code.
There is no other way that's better paid.
You do it so well,
Blood Type O, it's all so long ago.
You do it so well,
But you do it so well.
You build it up and you burn it down.
You take the smile and make it frown.
I don't know why you ever wont look back.
If it was ever up to me,
I'd steal the crown and you would see.
I'd take the fight that's here in front of you.
You do it so well,
Blood Type O, it's all so long ago.
You do it so well.
Blood Type O, it's all imaginary.
But you do it so well.
You're Blood Type O.
You do it so well.
It's all so long ago.
It's all imaginary.
Blood Type O.
The lyrics of Simple Minds's song "Blood Type O" delve into themes of conflict, power dynamics, and perception. The singer of the song appears to be observing a fight between two people, possibly even participating in it, but wonders why they would engage in such petty conflict when there are more important things to worry about. The phrase "It's all so mediocre anyway" suggests a sense of disillusionment with the situation.
The second stanza seems to address an individual who possesses a certain level of expertise or proficiency. The line "Blood Type O, it's all so long ago" could possibly refer to the evolutionary theory that Blood Type O is the oldest and most primitive blood type. The singer acknowledges that this individual is skilled at what they do, but also points out that their perceived greatness may only exist in their imagination. The chorus repeats the line "You do it so well/Blood Type O, it's all imaginary" which emphasizes the idea that personal perception does not always match reality.
The final few lines of the song express a desire for power and control. The singer longs to "steal the crown" and take on whatever fight lies ahead. This could be interpreted as a call to action to take charge of one's own life and fight for what is important. Overall, the song seems to question the authenticity of personal perception and what really matters in life.
