I was in my mid 20’s when this song came out. I thought this song was the realest lyrical song out. As I got older, I realized I was wrong. My parents knew I wasn’t perfect, but they also knew my potential. And that’s all they wanted for me. They wanted me to be the best version of myself and live up to my potential. This is one of my favorite songs. I'm totally blind and struggle with social anxiety and possibly manic depression. Anyway it's so exhausting trying to constantly prove to everyone, employers, professors, peers, anybody really, that my blindness doesn't define me. I'm just as capable of having a job or doing school work as anyone with sight. I constantly have to fight to prove myself and end up being ignored. My parents just tell me to fight harder and advocate for myself but they don't understand how terrifying it is for me to interact with others and how exhausted I am from the fighting. I love this song because it makes me feel like that's alright. I don't have to be as brave or as strong as everyone wants me to be. I don't have to be as weak or handicapped as others want me to be. Listening to this song, I almost feel like who I am is alright.

That's so true you know, parents expect their kids to be perfect but in reality, we aren't we can never be near perfect, we all make mistakes, we all fall under peer pressure and we all still need correction, the only way to be perfect is realize there is no such thing as perfect and when you believe that you will make your own definition of perfect of how you want to be and even though that is no "perfect" it is the best you can do and all you can do is try to better yourself
