Three Babies
Sinéad O'Connor Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Each of these
My three babies
I will carry with me
For myself
I ask no one else will be
Mother to these three
And of course
I'm like a wild horse
But there's no other way I could be
Water and feed
Are not tools that I need
For the thing that I've chosen to be

In my soul
My blood and my bones
I have wrapped your cold bodies around me, oh
The face on you
The smell of you
Will always be with me

Each of these
My three babies
I was not willing to leave
Though I tried
I blasphemed and denied
I know they will be returned to me

Each of these
My babies
Have brought you closer to me
No longer mad like a horse
I'm still wild, but not lost
From the thing that I've chosen to be

And it's 'cause you've thrilled me
Silenced me, stilled me
Proved things I never believed, oh
The face on you
The smell of you
Will always be with me

Each of these
My three babies
I will carry with me
For myself

I ask no one else will be
Mother to these three

Ireland’s greatest ever female voice has left us. Sinead tried so hard but in the end, it was all too much. May she Rest In Peace and be in the arms of her loving son.

@realcapitalist1462

On the contrary, I'd say she moved mountains. It's tremendously sad what has happened but she packed so much into her life in the pursuit of justice and a better society for all.

@baddrivers6807

She was a great artist

@in_light.

Ireland's, but also the world's. I know there are more popular, female singers who are globally renowned. However, I think most of them (living) still can't hold a candle to Sinead. May she RIP.

@karelle327

Sinead inspired many. Remember hanging in the west village with my friends in the 90s and we were soooo obsessed with the beautiful fiery soul who taught us about the travesties of this world. Gosh, she removed the veil of ignorance. I was but a teen but I knew it was TRUTH. I love you Queen. You have raised the consciousness of a nation. ❤️💔
