In my opinion, the better Chicken Rice stalls in Singapore are those that offers "Ginger Sauce" to go alongside the chilli sauce and the rest of the dish. Chicken rice may seem like a one dimensional dish, but the technique and flavours involved makes it so much more complex. Thank you for shedding light on Singapore local delights! Cheers.

I haven’t been to a stall that doesn’t serve ginger sauce tho😅

@thestaringenclave

Tong Fong Fatt has ginger sauce but for some reason it wasn’t served to the host.

That ginger, garlic and shallot sauce is just incredibly adictive. It just goes with anything. Absolutely fantastic in asian soups as a condiment.

i was wondering why there wasn't any, but it seemed to be there in the home-cooked version. maybe andy just doesn't prefer it...?

@nate_wil

Remember having this for the first time in Singapore. When it came out on a plastic plate looking so plain I wasn’t expecting much…it’s still one of the best things I’ve ever eaten.

that's a hallmark of Malayan Food - it's ugly yet delicious. You should check out satay beehoon, best eaten with your eyes closed
