Ain't No Sunshine
Singers And Songwriters Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Verse 1
Well I used to be the life and soul of the party
I would tell the jokes and they would be funny
The audience would laugh and shout out for more
And we all would have a wonderful ball

Verse 2
Well I used to be an all round entertainer
Iā€™d make the people laugh
With my wit and my humour
But now Iā€™m just becoming a bore
Cause I just ainā€™t funny no more

Chorus
Well I just ainā€™t funny no more
No I just ainā€™t funny no more
All my jokes have gone

Everythingā€™s gone wrong
And I just ainā€™t funny no more

Overall Meaning

The Singers And Songwriters song "Ain't No Sunshine" talks about a once popular and entertaining person who has lost their spark. In the first verse, it highlights how this person was once the "life and soul of the party," able to make people laugh with their jokes and wit. The audience enjoyed their company, and they all had a great time. However, in the second verse, it shows how this person has lost their touch of creativity and humor, and their once entertaining self has now become a "bore." It is frustrating for them to know that they are not funny anymore and have lost their ability to make people laugh.

Overall, this song touches on the subject of losing one's talent and how it can be disheartening. People may become accustomed to being the best at something, but one day, their skills may disappear, leaving them with no choice but to accept reality. Therefore, this song is a reminder that talent is fleeting, and we should appreciate it while we still have it.

A wonderfully soulful and emotional arrangement. I loved hearing more of his higher range in this but just as you're settling into that.. BOOM! He drags you back into the bowels of the earth! Great reaction as always, thanks! šŸ™‚šŸ‘

It's almost to the point where you can just say Geoff. and that's all you need. He stepped out of the box on this one and once again killed it. He's got a bigger box now so I'm excited to see where he, and VoicePlay, goes this year.

@zitriphyer8429

you just copy pasting that everywhere? šŸ˜„

@radbrad1935

Iā€™ve seen that comment a few times too, but I donā€™t mind seeing it on different reaction videos because 1: itā€™s likely more intended for the reactor to see, not for us viewers that watch several reactors and read comments and 2: it is slightly different each time Iā€™ve seen it anyway, so even if the main point of the comment is copy pasted, itā€™s not a big deal in my eyes. I can understand the intention behind it.

@@radbrad1935 I meant nothing by it. But no, itā€™s the exact same comment

The whole video was masterful. He put so much emotion into it and the setting, a nearly empty house, only added to the atmosphere of the song. It was great. Great reaction Brad. Glad you got to this one so quick

@tracyz9155

This is such an interesting arrangement. Especially the change of lead tone. Thanks for your reaction

@gugz76

Definitely one of my favorites by Geoff!

@Broomrider1492

Beware of that fist DROP. Put your seatbelt on. The emotions he puts into this song.

@DC-tm7ys

Very nice reaction. The song is epic....sad...sensual and made for our Geoff.
