She’s released over 14 studio albums, her Christmas album from 1986 is the best selling album in Norway ever with almost one mill copies sold! She’s featured on several soundtracks and sold well over nine million albums world wide and her popularity continues to grow!
She truly is a northern star!
Here are the lyrics to her song "Ready to go home":
On this street below these walls
Where I used to walk now I can barely crawl
All this darkness rise and tall
Lord shine a light for me I’m ready to be caught
I’m ready to go home
I’m ready to receive forgiveness for my sins
I’m ready to begin
Take this river to the sea
Where the delta flows
The tide is washing over me
Guide this soul to heavens door
Show me where tomorrow lays
I’m waiting to be born
I’m ready to lay down
I’m ready now to sleep a promise I must keep
I’m ready to go home
So time I’ll lay down with these memories
Breathe the shallow deep inside of me
If time has run its course with me
I’m ready to go home
I’m ready to receive forgiveness for my sins
I’m ready to begin
When the evening shadows fall
When the time has come
I let defences fall
To surrenders to survive
I will give up everything to those I leave behind
I’m ready to go home
I’m ready to receive forgiveness for my sins
I’m ready to begin
I’m ready to lay down
I’m ready now to sleep a promise I must keep
I’m ready to go home, again
Going home again
Inn Til Deg

Ansikt.
The lyrics of Sissel's song Inn Til Deg are incredibly emotional, evoking a sense of longing and loss. The first verse describes a woman with a face, eyes, and a smile that the singer once knew, but who now seems out of reach. There is nothing left for the singer to do, nowhere left to listen, and no words or thoughts left. The singer feels unanchored in time and place, and trapped in an unending search for peace that she will never find.
The second verse recounts the brief happiness that the singer once felt, the hopes and dreams that she had and the things that she missed. Everything she had and held dear was taken away by someone she loved, leaving her forever bereft, without any hopes of finding peace. The chorus is an appeal to the person who took away the singer's happiness, asking where to look for them, how far she has to go, and what she must say to find her way back to them.
Overall, the song is a lament about lost love and the search for meaning and connection in the face of overwhelming pain and uncertainty. It speaks to the universal experience of heartbreak and the human desire to find solace and reconciliation even in the most difficult of circumstances.

Where you have “yes” several times she’s really singing “just”. It’s her accent that makes it sound like “yes”.
