She truly is a northern star!
Here are the lyrics to her song "Ready to go home":
On this street below these walls
Where I used to walk now I can barely crawl
All this darkness rise and tall
Lord shine a light for me I’m ready to be caught
I’m ready to go home
I’m ready to receive forgiveness for my sins
I’m ready to begin
Take this river to the sea
Where the delta flows
The tide is washing over me
Guide this soul to heavens door
Show me where tomorrow lays
I’m waiting to be born
I’m ready to lay down
I’m ready now to sleep a promise I must keep
I’m ready to go home
So time I’ll lay down with these memories
Breathe the shallow deep inside of me
If time has run its course with me
I’m ready to go home
I’m ready to receive forgiveness for my sins
I’m ready to begin
When the evening shadows fall
When the time has come
I let defences fall
To surrenders to survive
I will give up everything to those I leave behind
I’m ready to go home
I’m ready to receive forgiveness for my sins
I’m ready to begin
I’m ready to lay down
I’m ready now to sleep a promise I must keep
I’m ready to go home, again
Going home again

- Mæ lind ber lauv -
Å, må eg nå få min vilji med deg
- Og dei vekkjer så stolt ei jomfru -
Nei, inkji så fær du di vilje me meg,
So kasta dei henna i hågeste brann.
Så kom der tvo englar av himmelen ne,
Då dei for tilbake, gjekk Margjit mæ de!
The song "Stolt Margjit" tells the story of a proud and strong-willed young woman, Margjit, who refuses to give in to the wishes of others, even when faced with grave consequences. In the opening verse, Margjit is being confronted by someone who is trying to persuade her to do something against her will, but she stands her ground and tells them that she will not be swayed. She emphasizes her point by saying that she and the person in question are like siblings and should therefore be respectful of each other's wishes.
The second verse reveals the reason for Margjit's fortitude. She is accused of engaging in immoral behavior by Olav, who is likely a representative of the church or the ruling authorities. While lying in bed, she wonders what the light shining in the night might be, perhaps a symbol of hope or salvation. However, her thoughts are interrupted by Olav and his accusations. Despite their accusations, Margjit is confident in her own worth and refuses to be belittled or judged unfairly.
The final verse is both surprising and uplifting. Margjit is thrown into the fire, but instead of being consumed, she is rescued by two angels. The symbolism of this image is left open to interpretation, but it is clear that Margjit's strength of will and moral character have earned her a miraculous escape from her tormentors. The overall message of the song is one of resilience, fortitude, and the power of inner strength to triumph over external pressures.

Where you have “yes” several times she’s really singing “just”. It’s her accent that makes it sound like “yes”.
