Oh happy day (oh happy day)
When Jesus washed (when Jesus washed)
When Jesus washed (when Jesus washed)
When Jesus washed (when Jesus washed)
He washed my sins away (oh happy day)
Oh happy day (oh happy day)
And live rejoicing every, everyday
Oh happy day
He taught me how
Oh happy day (oh happy day)
Oh happy day (oh happy day)
Oh happy day (oh happy day)
The lyrics of the song "Oh Happy Day" performed by Sister Act/Whoopi Goldberg speaks of the joyous realization of having one's sins washed away by Jesus. The song begins with repeated lines of "Oh happy day" portraying a moment of overwhelming joy and gratitude. The repetition of the phrase emphasises how the singer feels about this particular day. The next couple of lines say "When Jesus washed... He washed my sins away" signify how the singer understands that his/her past wrongdoings are now forgiven and that he/she can start anew. The next verse, "He taught me how to watch, fight and pray, fight and pray / And live rejoicing every, everyday," implies that the teachings of Jesus have led to a better way of living and that the singer is now better equipped to handle life's challenges. The feeling of happiness persists throughout the song, and the singer repeats "oh happy day" to emphasise the overwhelming joy he/she feels.

She goes to him and put her arm on his schoulder and giving him a hunk. There was a;so a girl in the audiens how asked do this song (she is also in the video next Whoopy). and whoopy changed the planned song with the choir and do this song.
