Raparaparaparaparaparaparim

The lyrics of Sitiados’s “Vida de Marinheiro” tell a tale of a sailor’s life and how it’s taking a toll on him. The chorus repeats the line “This sailor’s life is killing me” and is accompanied by a catchy melody that resembles the sound of the waves. The verses describe the story of a sailor that the singer has met in Lisbon. He was born on a stormy night and left a bottle of liquor unfinished, which made him a true sailor. He navigated around Sodré, always with a drink in his hand. The chorus repeats again, emphasizing how difficult being a sailor can be. The second verse offers a glimpse into the mindset of the singer. He says that some sailors travel from port to port, seeking fortune, while he just wants to sink. The lyrics then shift to a nostalgic tone where he calls someone in Tokyo just to hear them sing, hoping that it would make him feel better.
