Lost In Space
Sitti Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Sometimes, I get tired of this mean first attitude
You are the one thing that keeps me smiling
That's why I'm always wishin' hard for you
Coz your light shines so bright
I don't feel no solitude
You are my first star at night
I'd be lost in space without you
[Chorus]
And I'll never lose my faith in you
And I will never get to heaven if I do

It feels just so fine when we touch the sky me and you
This is my, my care of heaven
Why can't it always be so good?
But it's all right I know you're out there
Doing what you gotta do
You are my soul satellite
I'd be lost in space without you

[Chorus]
And I'll never lose my faith in you
And I will never, oh, get to heaven if I do
And I'll never lose my faith in you
And I will never, oh, get to heaven if I do

I'll never lose my faith in you
I'll never lose my faith in you

I'll never lose my faith in you
I'll never lose my faith in you

Overall Meaning

"Lost In Space" is a song that expresses the importance of having someone who brings light into your life. The song begins with the singer expressing that sometimes she gets tired of the harshness of life, but there is someone who keeps her smiling. This person represents a guiding light, one that she wishes for fervently because with that light, she feels a sense of ease and comfort. The "first star at night" is a metaphor for this person, and without them, the singer ultimately feels like she would be lost.

The chorus of the song revolves around the theme of faith. The singer declares that she will never lose her faith in this person, and that if she does, she will never make it to heaven. The line "get to heaven" could be interpreted as an aspiration to reach a state of ultimate contentment, love, and peace; and, so without this person, the singer does not believe she will ever reach that level of happiness.

Lastly, the song acknowledges the fact that although things may not always be perfect, the person is still out there doing what they have to do. The lyrics “I know you’re out there doing what you gotta do” imply that the person is not always present, but they are still very much an important part of the singer's life. They are like a "soul satellite," there even if they are not physically there, and without this person, the singer would feel lost in space.
