Rise of the Melancholy Empire
Sixx:A.M. Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴
With senseless pain and murder
No mother's milk to sip
No innocence to nurture
May God be cruel to you
May he rain his hell upon you
We will not be defeated
However hard they try
Over and over and over a thousand times
Through all this suffering
As fall turns into winter
We will be back again
And grown in new found numbers
May God be cruel to you
May he rain his hell upon you
We will grow strong from this
We will not be defeated
However hard they try
Over and over and over a thousand times
We will grow strong from this
We will not be defeated
However hard they try
Over and over and over a thousand times
The lyrics of "Rise of the Melancholy Empire" by Sixx:A.M. convey a message of resilience in the face of adversity and suffering. The opening lines speak of a world filled with struggle, pain, and violence, where there is no nurturing or protection for the innocent. The imagery of a harsh, unforgiving landscape sets the tone for the rest of the song.
The repeated refrain "May God be cruel to you, may he rain his hell upon you" reflects a sense of anger and defiance towards those who inflict harm and injustice. It suggests a desire for divine justice to be served upon those responsible for the suffering and hardships endured by the singer and their community.
As the song progresses, there is a shift towards empowerment and strength. The lyrics speak of growing stronger in the face of challenges, refusing to be defeated no matter how hard the trials may be. The repetition of the lines "We will grow strong from this, we will not be defeated, however hard they try, over and over and over a thousand times" reinforces the theme of resilience and perseverance.
The closing verses hint at a sense of renewal and rebirth, as the seasons change and new opportunities for growth emerge. The imagery of returning after a harsh winter and multiplying in numbers suggests a sense of hope and regeneration. Overall, the song is a powerful anthem of defiance and determination, urging listeners to stand tall in the face of adversity and keep fighting for a better tomorrow.

SIXX: A. M. (2016) – RISE OF THE MELANCHOLY EMPIRE (Traducción)
There's always struggle here
Aquí siempre hay una lucha
With senseless pain and murder
Con dolor sin sentido y asesinato
No mother's milk to sip
Sin leche materna para mamar
No innocence to nurture
Sin inocencia para la crianza
May God be cruel to you
Puede que Dios sea cruel contigo
May he rain his hell upon you
Puede que haga llover su infierno sobre ti
We will grow strong from this
Nos volveremos fuertes a resultas de esto
We will not be defeated
No seremos derrotados
However hard they try
Da igual lo duro que lo intenten
Over and over and over a thousand times
Una y otra y otra vez un millar de veces
Through all this suffering
Tras todo este sufrimiento
As fall turns into winter
Mientras el otoño se convierte en invierno
We will be back again
Volveremos de nuevo
And grown in newfound numbers
Y creceremos en nuevos miembros
May God be cruel to you
Puede que Dios sea cruel contigo
May he rain his hell upon you
Puede que haga llover su infierno sobre ti
We will grow strong from this
Nos volveremos fuertes a resultas de esto
We will not be defeated
No seremos derrotados
However hard they try
Da igual lo duro que lo intenten
Over and over and over a thousand times
Una y otra y otra vez un millar de veces
We will grow strong from this
Nos volveremos fuertes a resultas de esto
We will not be defeated
No seremos derrotados
However hard they try
Da igual lo duro que lo intenten
Over and over and over a thousand times
Una y otra y otra vez un millar de veces
