After a wildly successful tour across South America in late 2005, the band decided, in their own words, to "stop for a while". Some of their members went on to form side band projects such as No Relax and The Locos. As time went by without further notices, many Ska-P fans feared the band had been gone for good. On late April 2008 and for the rejoice of their worldwide fans, they announced their return as a band on their official site.
Their new album, "Lágrimas y gozos", was released the 7th of October 2008 and its first single is called "Crimen sollicitationis". The band is going to perform various shows around South America and Europe in November and December.

Hermano boliviano , hermano mexicano
Yo te quiero nicaragua, yo te quiero salvador
Yo te quiero guatemala, yo te quiero mogollón
Yo te quiero nicaragua, yo te quiero salvador
Yo te quiero guatemala, te quiero mogollón
Yo te quiero nicaragua, yo te quiero salvador
Yo te quiero guatemala, yo te quiero mogollón
Yo te quiero nicaragua, yo te quiero salvador

The lyrics of Ska-P's song "America Latina Libre" express solidarity with the people of Latin America who have struggled for liberation from imperialism, dictators, and poverty. The song addresses various countries individually, calling them "hermano" (brother) and acknowledging their histories of revolution, bloodshed, and resistance. The chorus repeats the phrase "yo te quiero," which means "I love you," emphasizing the message of unity and support across borders.
The verses describe the ongoing struggles that Latin American people face, including fake democracies, dictatorships, and exploitation by the United States. The lyrics call on the US to "Lárgate" or "get out" and allow Latin America to develop its resources and culture without interference. The song ends on a note of hope, asserting that victory and freedom are possible even in the face of violence and economic oppression.
