After a wildly successful tour across South America in late 2005, the band decided, in their own words, to "stop for a while". Some of their members went on to form side band projects such as No Relax and The Locos. As time went by without further notices, many Ska-P fans feared the band had been gone for good. On late April 2008 and for the rejoice of their worldwide fans, they announced their return as a band on their official site.
Their new album, "Lágrimas y gozos", was released the 7th of October 2008 and its first single is called "Crimen sollicitationis". The band is going to perform various shows around South America and Europe in November and December.

El Olvidado
Ska-P Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Mientras exista miseria no habrá dignidad
Mucha solidaridad
Corre! Empieza el Gran Hermano
The lyrics to Ska-P's "El Olvidado" paint a picture of a person living in poverty, living under a concrete bridge, and feeling the coldness penetrate their skin every night. They are surrounded by boxes made of cardboard, highlighting the temporary and unstable nature of their living conditions. Despite their situation, they are also exposed to the indifference of those who have more than them, which feels like a personal humiliation.
The song goes on to critique the idea that charity alone can solve the problem of poverty. While it can alleviate some of the symptoms, it doesn't address the root cause of inequality. The lyrics ask what the solution to this inequality might be. As long as poverty exists, true dignity and equality cannot be achieved. Despite the presence of solidarity, there remains a distance between those in need and those who have the power to help.
The song also touches on the idea that the constitution promises everyone the right to a better life, yet in reality, many are forgotten and ignored. It's a powerful call to action to awaken us to the systemic issues that can cause people to be "forgotten" in our society.
