After a wildly successful tour across South America in late 2005, the band decided, in their own words, to "stop for a while". Some of their members went on to form side band projects such as No Relax and The Locos. As time went by without further notices, many Ska-P fans feared the band had been gone for good. On late April 2008 and for the rejoice of their worldwide fans, they announced their return as a band on their official site.
Their new album, "Lágrimas y gozos", was released the 7th of October 2008 and its first single is called "Crimen sollicitationis". The band is going to perform various shows around South America and Europe in November and December.

The lyrics of Ska-P's song La Colmena is a powerful statement against the oppressive systems that have been laid out by various governments and the bourgeoisie. The song starts off on a positive note with the sun shining and everything under control. However, the next line is quite telling. "Amanece un nuevo día en la colmena" which translates to "A new day dawns in the beehive." This metaphor is used to describe the daily grind of the working class who are being exploited by the system. The song's protagonist wants everyone to get to work and to follow his orders as his word is the most solid doctrine. This displays the level of authority and control that the ruling class possesses over the proletariat.
The tone of the song changes in the next verse where the oppressed class starts to speak out against their oppressors. The lyrics are a call to action against the injustices being committed against them. The lines "Te has olvidado que existimos y estamos aquí" which translates to "You have forgotten that we exist and we are here" highlights the struggle of the working class in being recognized and represented by those in power. The song calls out the ruling class for trying to "eliminate" them, as they are seen as a "bad weed." But just like a weed, they will continue to grow and come back stronger. Lastly, the song ends on a metaphorical note where it calls upon everyone to rebel against the oppressive system that seeks to control them.
