After a wildly successful tour across South America in late 2005, the band decided, in their own words, to "stop for a while". Some of their members went on to form side band projects such as No Relax and The Locos. As time went by without further notices, many Ska-P fans feared the band had been gone for good. On late April 2008 and for the rejoice of their worldwide fans, they announced their return as a band on their official site.
Their new album, "Lágrimas y gozos", was released the 7th of October 2008 and its first single is called "Crimen sollicitationis". The band is going to perform various shows around South America and Europe in November and December.

The lyrics of Ska-P's "Simpatico Holgazan" speak about the exploitation of the working class by medieval aristocracy that still exists in modern times. The song starts with a description of a castle, emphasising the luxurious lifestyle of the monarchy while the common people are forced to work and pay taxes out of their hard-earned money. The singer, a curious villager, questions the inequality in society, highlighting the fact that he has to work hard to make ends meet, while the king doesn't even lift a finger and lives off the backs of others.
The chorus of the song points towards the submission of the citizens to the monarchy, serving the king and complying with the rules imposed by him, which indirectly lets the monarchy continue their unjustified rule. The lyrics also suggest that the ruling class is hereditary, meaning that future generations of the royal family will continue to hold onto power.
Overall, "Simpatico Holgazan" is a critique of the class divide that still exists in modern-day society, the passivity of the working class, and the impunity with which the monarchy continues to exploit the people.
