It's All Over
Skins 11. Broken Family Band Lyrics

And kiss, your beautiful eyelids
Throw open, your beautiful doors
And phone, your beautiful friends
But it's all over
It's all over
It's all over
I could bind, your beautiful wrists
And shut, your beautiful eyes,
With the drugs, with the drugs, with the drugs
And kick, your beautiful doors in
Oh shame, on your beautiful friends,
'Cause it's all over
It's all over
It's all over
It's all over
I could fight, your beautiful words
And mourn, your beautiful loss
Throw me out, of your beautiful lifestyle
And call, your beautiful name,
It's all over
'Cause it's all over
It's all over
It's all over
It's all over
It's all over
It's all over
It's all over
The Broken Family Band's song "It's All Over" is about a relationship that has come to an end. The singer seems to be reflecting on the possibility of reconciliation, going through different scenarios in their head. They could hold hands, kiss eyelids, open doors, and call friends, but ultimately they know it's all over. The repetition of the phrase "it's all over" reinforces the finality of the situation.
In the second verse, the tone becomes more desperate and darker. The singer imagines using drugs to bind their partner's wrists and shut their eyes, and kicks down their doors. They express frustration and anger towards the partner's "beautiful friends," who they feel have contributed to the end of the relationship. The repeated plea of "shame, on your beautiful friends" suggests that they feel betrayed or let down by those closest to their partner.
The final verse shows a sense of resignation as the singer acknowledges that the fight is over. They mourn the loss of the relationship and acknowledge that they have been thrown out of their partner's lifestyle. The final phrase "it's all over" is repeated several times, sounding more defeated with each repetition.
Overall, the song expresses the feelings of heartbreak, anger, and resignation that come with the end of a relationship. It also touches on the ways in which other people can contribute to and complicate these emotions.

I absolutely loved Cashback but you know, I didn't notice this song. And that shocks me now because when I heard it again in S1 of Skins I went nuts for it and bought The Best of the Broken Family Band album because of it. It is an exceptional song. There is another incredible and incredibly simple song you might like on that album called "John Belushi." Nice job on this new mastered version. Cleaner and clearer than your other version. And I'm very sorry to hear your brother left so soon.

It's actually not in Cashback. I heard the song around the same time I saw the movie and just got a little inspiration.
