Marley was born in Kingston, Jamaica to Cedella Marley and David Minto, and raised in Miami, Florida.[1][2] Growing up, he taught himself to play the piano, drums, guitar, and bass.[3]
In 2015, he released his first single, "Cry to Me", and a second single called "Life" under the Tuff Gong label. He later signed with Blue Mountain Music, and joined his uncles Damian and Stephen on their Catch a Fire tour.
In early 2016, he was featured in a Gap 1969 Denim campaign.
In early 2017, Skip Marley signed to Island Records. Island's President and CEO, David Massey, called Marley's talent "extraordinary", adding that "his music reflects what the world needs right now." Marley released his debut single under Island Records, "Lions", in February 2017.

I mean, it's not wah we ah deal wid
The reality of what goin' happen
Is something higher than man own personal
Likkle vexation and pride self
This is something weh no man cyaan' stop because
All nation ah go gather and all nation ah go say yes and right
And some, some plenty will die
The people who deh deh who want it and know seh is fi dem own
Which is the truth, the right to live
You know? Which where you take di right fi live
Di right fi live is to have di right vibe
Di right vibe come from Rasta
Oh, I'm lost I need a map
Though I slip get back on track
See the future, clear your path
'Cause we go forward, never back (yeah)
Little weary boy, don't run up
Listen to the voice in your heart
I gotta fess up, no hesitation
It's a vibration, ready with my arms up
Take me to the higher place
I gotta run to a higher state
There's nowhere else to go, light the way
Pack it up and roll, I'm on my way
Take this to a higher place
I gotta run to a higher plain
There's nowhere else to go, light the way
Pack it up and roll, I'm on my way
How much longer can we play?
Man, they've run and gone astray
There won't be another day
If you don't decide to make a way
Little weary boy, don't run up
Listen to the voice in your heart
I gotta fess up, no hesitation
It's a vibration, ready with my arms up
Take me to the higher place
I gotta run to a higher state
There's nowhere else to go, light the way
Pack it up and roll, I'm on my way
Take this to a higher place
I gotta run to a higher plain
There's nowhere else to go, light the way
Pack it up and roll, I'm on my way
It's something higher
I mean, it's not wah we ah deal wid
The reality of what goin' happen
Is something higher than man own personal
In Skip Marley's song "Higher Place," the lyrics express the idea of reaching something higher and beyond personal desires and worries. The song speaks to a higher calling, more significant than the individual, discussing how people will inevitably gather together to recognize this higher calling. The lyrics mention that some will die, but those who want it and believe it is for them will receive it. This higher calling that is discussed in the lyrics is related to the right to live, and the right vibe comes from Rasta.
The lyrics suggest that people must listen to the voice in their heart, clear the path and move forward towards this higher place. It emphasizes the importance of being ready without hesitation and being willing to put your arms up to receive it. The overall message in the song expresses the importance of chasing this higher calling, which doesn't deal with personal vexation or pride but instead embraces the right to live and vibe with Rasta.

A wise old man was talking to a boy and said.......
''There are two wolves always fighting inside me. One is filled with anger, hate, jealousy, shame and lies.
The other wolf is filled with love, joy, truth and peace. This battle rages inside of you and all men''.
The boy thought for a moment and asked, ''Which wolf will win?''
The old man answered - ''The one you feed!''.
( I am a man of this world, I love you all).
