Skött, from a tiny village just outside Stockholm, grew up in a small town commune in the forest, inhabited by a good number of folk musicians. This obviously brought music into her life at an early age, but no music of the contemporary variety. It was when she visited a city in her teens that she heard anything more current.
Skött has distinctive vocals and her story telling is combined with the instrumental music.

Coming for your aid, isn't it odd?
Isn't it silly, now that you know?
Someone this slippery, can't let you go
It's true, you know that I would jump too
You know that I would jump too
Ooh, into the blue
You should have left me, cut off the rope
I'm too much sugar, I am your dope
I'm just as scared as you, alone in the rain
I'll jump if you jump too
Believe me, it is true
You know that I would jump too
You know that I would jump too
Ooh, into the blue, into the blue
It's proof, 'cause we got nothing to lose
And there ain't nothing to prove
You know I'd jump with you
Like the oceans dancing with a storm, I will dance with you
While my waves enclose you 'til you're warm, like the water's glue
Hold your breath and let me count to three, when you really know it's right
Take my hand, we'll dive into the sea
It's true, you know that I would jump too
You know that I would jump too
Ooh, into the blue, into the blue
It's proof, 'cause we got nothing to lose
And there ain't nothing to prove
You know I'd jump with you
I'll be your mermaid
I'll be your mermaid
I'll be your mermaid
I'll be your mermaid
The lyrics of Skott's "Mermaid" describe the singer's desire to be someone's constant source of support, always willing to come to their aid and be there for them through thick and thin. In the song, Skott compares herself to a mermaid, caught on a rock and unable to move, but willing to jump into the unknown if her love interest will do the same. She acknowledges that she is "slippery" and hard to hold on to, but still wants to be with the person she loves.
Skott also acknowledges her own fears and weaknesses but is willing to overcome them for the sake of her relationship. She sings that she is "just as scared as you, alone in the rain," but will still jump if her love interest does so. The chorus repeats the idea that she would "jump too, into the blue," meaning she is ready to take risks for their relationship.
The song uses water-based imagery throughout, with Skott comparing herself to a mermaid and referencing the ocean and waves as metaphors for the ups and downs of love. Overall, "Mermaid" is a passionate declaration of love and willingness to take risks for the people we care about.

I think deep inside artists hate when you compare them to someone else. For a creative person's most precious treasure is individuality
@PandaTheGFX
Honestly if they think that they're more likely narcissistic, nothing exists in a vacuum, anything can and will be compared to something else
@juliusseizure4983
@@PandaTheGFX Depends on the person. How much they like/draw inspiration from them. If it's someone they don't really know, then it might get repetitive.

"Art was never ment to be pretty".
Art is subjective.

@@PandaTheGFX i disagree they are not narcissistic, No one likes being compared to someone else.
