Skycycle released a self-produced demo tape named Siren in 1997. This successfully got them signed to MCA Records, leading up to the issuing of Skycycle's debut EP, "Breathing Water" one year later. Skycycle were dropped in 1999, before the release of their completed full length CD, "Ones and Zeros", which remains unreleased. Chris Cano replaced Rob Brown as drummer, because the latter pursued a career in jazz music. The band continued to play and write music for about a year before disbanding in September 2000. The band played one final time on October 22, 2002.

King of getting close to me
Think twice first,
You'll be turning green
It's not a lie
It's a gravestone deadly warning
Stay away,
You're in for global warming
I'm radioactive
Radioactive
Radioactive
Ever since
I was just a boy
Infatuate, involve
And then avoid
A pattern I'm
Unsuccessful breaking
I'd call it off,
But there's no use in faking, I'm
Radioactive
Radioactive
Radioactive
All of us, all alive
For such a short time
I can't help, I can't hide
I'm radioactive and I don't even...
All of us, all alive
For such a short time
I can't help, I can't hide
I'm radioactive and I don't even...
All of us, all alive
For such a short time
I can't help, I can't hide
I'm radioactive and I don't even mind
The lyrics to Skycycle's song "Radioactive" convey a warning to someone who may be trying to get too close to the singer. The repeated assertion that the singer is "radioactive" suggests that they are inherently dangerous or toxic in some way, and that it is not safe for others to get too close to them. The warning that the person will "be turning green" seems to indicate that the toxicity of the singer is contagious, and will affect anyone who gets too close to them.
The second verse of the song explains that the singer has a long history of attraction and avoidance, and that they have been unsuccessful in breaking this pattern. This reinforces the idea that the singer is dangerous and unpredictable, and that it is best for others to stay away from them. The repetition of the word "radioactive" throughout the song reinforces this warning, and creates a sense of urgency and danger.
The chorus of the song suggests that all of us, as human beings, are only alive for a short time, and that the singer's radioactive quality is just one more thing that makes them unique and different. Despite the warning and the danger, the singer seems resigned to their fate, and does not appear to be seeking a cure or a way to overcome their toxic nature. Instead, they accept it as part of who they are, and believe that others should do the same.
