Upon leaving Morcheeba, Edwards was replaced by Daisy Martey (formerly of Noonday Underground) as the band's vocalist. (Martey was subsequently criticised by fans for sounding too much like Skye. She did not tour with the band following the release of their first album with her, The Antidote, her place being taken by Jody Sternberg.)
Edwards is signed to Atlantic Records UK. Her debut solo album, Mind How You Go was released on February 27th, 2006.

2010: With "Blood Like Lemonade" Skye is firmly back in place. According to Skye "it all happened quite by chance". After seven years, she bumped into Ross Godfrey at her manager's office. They gave each other a big hug, had a chat, and this led to the brother's asking Skye (through their manager) if she would be interested in singing a few songs on their new record. Skye's immediate thought was "Nope", but she thought about it a bit, they had a meal together, "got pretty drunk" and agreed "lets make another Morcheeba record".

Couldn't help hear you talkin' to your best friend
Say, you're not satisfied
Things ain't workin' out with your girlfriend
So your searchin' for someone new
Someone to hold you tight, someone to treat you right
Though your girlfriend's a friend of mine
(Call me) If you need someone to talk to
(Call me) Satisfaction guaranteed
(Call me) If you need someone to talk to
(Call me) Call me!
Hello, how ya doin'?
No, she's gone
I figured I'd give you a call and see if you were serious
When?
Like to hear what the others talk about
Just me and you
You know, I got this little place that I like to go to
It's kinda dark and quiet and
Well, I been watchin' you boy
And I've got what you want, got what you need
Though your girlfriend's a friend of mine
Here's my number and a dime, call me anytime
(Call me) If you need someone to talk to
(Call me) Satisfaction guaranteed
(Call me) If you need someone to talk to
(Call me) Call me!
She doesn't treat you
What she used to do
She doesn't treat you
Like she used to do, no
Here's my number and a dime
He used to call me anytime
Here's my number and a dime
Call me anytime, yeah, yeah
She doesn't do to you
What she used to
She doesn't do to you
What she, what she, what she used to do, no
(Call me)
(Call me)
(Call me)
(Call me)
(Call me)
(Call me)
The lyrics to Skye's song "Call Me" talk about a woman who overhears a man talking to his friend about his dissatisfaction with his current girlfriend. The woman offers herself as a potential partner and provides her number, which the man can call anytime. The lyrics focus on the idea of the woman being a reliable and dependable person for the man to rely on if he needs someone to talk to or if his current relationship doesn't work out. The song is a confident and bold statement by the woman, proclaiming that she is precisely what the man needs, even if he doesn't know it yet.
The lyrics are open to interpretation, but one interpretation could be that the woman is taking advantage of the man's vulnerable state, offering herself as a replacement for his current girlfriend. On the other hand, the lyrics could be interpreted as the woman being supportive and providing a listening ear in a time of need, offering comfort and companionship to someone who may need it.
