*Skylab was a downtempo supergroup composed of U.K. DJ Mat Ducasse, produce… Read Full Bio ↴*Skylab was a downtempo supergroup composed of U.K. DJ Mat Ducasse, producer Howie "B" Bernstein (Howie B), Japanese recording artists Tosh and Kudo (Melon,Love T.K.O.,J.O.Y.,Major Force etc.) and vocalist Debbie Sanders.

Their first album, #1, is a forgotten classic. Nominally a trip hop or 'chillout' record, it's really far more ambitious. Beats and some low-key turntablism bookend excursions into lowercase soundscapes, vintage synth manipulation, ambient, impro and dub. Howie B's production bathes everything in a warm bass glow. Holds up brilliantly nearly 15 years later. Dig it out.

actually the first skylab mission orbited the station for a while checking out damage. When they entered skylab astronauts reported temperatures of 120*F and they concluded it was because of the shielding being torn off due to aerodynamic forces during liftoff. Skylab 2 peformed EVAs that added a gold foil to the outside of the station to reflect sunlight.

as a result of the sun the outside of the station actually became visibly charred by the time Skylab 1 arrived .

Wait…. Is this a recreation or some alternate history thing? Skylab 1 irl had a solar panel torn off and the micrometeorite shield damaged and replaced.

@Mark Evans What launch are you talking about? I watched the original footage of both launches and I think I had the arms retract correctly?

How did you get the truss? I cannot find the specific truss used on skylab. If someone knows please tell me.

I read documentation for BDB. For the truss part for skylab to show up in the parts you have to have The Breaking Ground DLC. This confused me too, until I found out

It's part of Bluedog Design Bureau, as well as all the other parts. Though in this video I am using the newest version that updated all the Skylab and Apollo parts, older versions may not have it.
