History
Sleep In Fame Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

It's the time
It's the time
It's the time
And I know the world is what you want
That life is what you give
Could form a revolt
Whoa oh oh
And I know that life was never fair
Because life's just pulls and tears
Hurry for a revolt
Now throw your hands in the air
For the sick and the tired of the wasted machines
Was it time to revolt? Revolt?
And they did it in assiduities
Not with their fists but their signs and the protesting scenes
Was it time to revolt? Revolt?
And I know this world is what you want
(Guess what?)
Life is what you give before we can revolt
Whoa oh oh
And I know that life was never fair
Because life's just pulls and tears
Hurry for a revolt
We're dying
We're dying
They made you wake
And I'll give you strength
Until they're crawling back to you
Crawling back to you
And they'll make you wake
But I'll give you strength
Until they're crawling back to you
Crawling back to you
And I'll give you strength
And I'll give you strength
Until they're crawling back to
Crawling back to you
And I'll give you strength
And I'll give you strength
Until they're crawling back to you
Crawling back to
Crawling back to you
Hey hey hey (Will you lose your mind?)
Hey hey hey (Will you learn to fly?)
Ah, what'd you say?
Ah, what'd you say?
Now throw your hands in the air
For the sick and the tired and the wasted machines
Was it time to revolt? Revolt?
They rather have us on our knees
But we're young and we're strong and we've waited so long
That we have built our own army against you
And I know this world is what you want
And life is what you give
Before we can revolt
And I know that life was never fair
Because life's just pulls and tears
Hurry for a revolt
Oh oh oh
Don't conform
Don't conform
And they make you wake
But I'll give you strength
Until they're crawling back to you

Crawling back to you
Crawling back to you

thanks for posting this, i broke out my Fingertight cd yesterday for the first time in a few years and realized how much I miss them.

cheshire530

Fingertight came through a gas station I was working at after they'd just signed to Columbia and were touring. They gave me their demo and I didn't listen to it until they were long gone, but man did I fall in love with it. I had to wait months for the actual album to release, but I did.. Then they broke up after ingot to see them play once:/ I still play their music once in a while, today was primarily a Fibgertight day.
