Danger
Slipknot Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

We too feel alone

That place in my mind
Is that space that you call mine
That place in my mind
Is that space that you call mine

Where have I been all this time?
Lost enslaved fatal decline
I've been waiting for this to unfold (Good)
The pieces are only as good as the whole

Severed myself from my whole life
Cut out the only thing that was right
What If I never saw you again
I'd die right next to you in the end

That place in my mind
Is that space that you call mine
That place in my mind
Is that space that you call mine

I won't let you walk away
Without hearing what I have to say

Without hearing what I have to say
Without hearing what I have to say

Overall Meaning

The song "14. Danger-Keep Away" by Slipknot is a powerful representation of the loneliness and despair that individuals often feel. The lyrics describe a place in the mind - a space that the singer identifies as their own. This space is both comforting and terrifying, as it is the only place where the singer can truly be themselves. The line "We too feel alone" implies that the singer is not alone in their feelings, but also reveals a sense of resignation to their situation.

The second stanza reflects on past mistakes and regrets. The singer feels lost and enslaved, left in a state of fatal decline. They have been waiting for something to happen, something to change their circumstances. The line "The pieces are only as good as the whole" suggests that the singer is looking for something larger than just themselves to make sense of their life. However, they have cut themselves off from the world - severing themselves from their whole life - and have lost the only thing that felt right.

The final stanza is a plea to not be forgotten, to not be left alone. The singer begs for the listener to hear what they have to say, emphasizing the importance of their words. Even though the singer feels isolated and cut off from the rest of the world, they still have a voice that they want heard. Overall, the song presents a raw, emotional portrayal of what it feels like to be trapped in one's own mind and struggling to connect with others.

@irontwist

I really love Slipknot 1999-2008, and this song.. very special. it stands out very much among their other tracks. she is very beautiful and melodic, in some ways she is even a little psychologically difficult.

I listen to this song when I'm lonely, when I'm depressed. she is really very sad, and I understand why she is so underestimated. but for me it is really unique.

thank you for making me happier. I really love you guys.

Slipknot is the best band in the world!

R.I.P. Joey and Paul ❤️

This song man, this song. There's always a certain time in life for this song. For when there's no one to talk to, no one that would understand, no one to cherish you. This song is here and it understands. It always does.
