We too feel alone

That place in my mind
Is that space that you call mine
That place in my mind
Is that space that you call mine

Where have I been all this time?
Lost enslaved fatal decline
I've been waiting for this to unfold (Good)
The pieces are only as good as the whole

Severed myself from my whole life
Cut out the only thing that was right
What If I never saw you again
I'd die right next to you in the end

That place in my mind
Is that space that you call mine
That place in my mind
Is that space that you call mine

I won't let you walk away
Without hearing what I have to say

Without hearing what I have to say
Without hearing what I have to say

Overall Meaning

The song "14. Danger-Keep Away" by Slipknot is a powerful representation of the loneliness and despair that individuals often feel. The lyrics describe a place in the mind - a space that the singer identifies as their own. This space is both comforting and terrifying, as it is the only place where the singer can truly be themselves. The line "We too feel alone" implies that the singer is not alone in their feelings, but also reveals a sense of resignation to their situation.

The second stanza reflects on past mistakes and regrets. The singer feels lost and enslaved, left in a state of fatal decline. They have been waiting for something to happen, something to change their circumstances. The line "The pieces are only as good as the whole" suggests that the singer is looking for something larger than just themselves to make sense of their life. However, they have cut themselves off from the world - severing themselves from their whole life - and have lost the only thing that felt right.

The final stanza is a plea to not be forgotten, to not be left alone. The singer begs for the listener to hear what they have to say, emphasizing the importance of their words. Even though the singer feels isolated and cut off from the rest of the world, they still have a voice that they want heard. Overall, the song presents a raw, emotional portrayal of what it feels like to be trapped in one's own mind and struggling to connect with others.

This version is great, but I'm glad they used the short version in the album. I feel like using the whole version might have throw off the tone of the album. The short version just works so well coming off of Virus of Life and wrapping up the whole album.

@bodhi9937

yh but its still a shame that there isnt an oficial full version

@TGO1393

Bodhi I have the CD that has the full version and I like it more in my opinion.

@bodhi9937

gameking598 yh i also like the full length version more than the short one (my comment probably made it look like i sadi the opposite but fuck it), but what i meant with original, wasnt an album version but an yt version on slipknot s channel.

@TGO1393

Bodhi yea I know, I do not know why they don't have it on their channel. There are a few songs that should be.

@chackaldsbm3099

I still think the long version would fit better. Stranger. I feel they wouldn't have hold it back if Vol. 3 wasn't meant to be more commercial than the previous albuns

Malcolm Lazarus Thanks man.

That lyrics makes me think one thing.
Maybe aliens are dangerous because they think they are all alone in universe, just like us, we find them in dreams, in backrooms where the universe cross our ways in dreams to know that we are not alone...
