SlowMotionNoise officially began in 2005 after a renaming of Sean Sheridan's previous solo project Project Double Ess. In 2007, SMN turned into a full band, with Sean on vocals/synth, Matt Taylor and Jason Haist on guitar, and Dave Bembenek on bass.
During the first half of 2009, SlowMotionNoise saw the departure of Matt and Dave. Shortly after Dave's departure, in June of 2009, Kristin Cavarsan joined the band as the new bassist.
January of 2010 brought a new sound to SlowMotionNoise with the addition of second vocalist Dannie Wright.
In May 2011, original guitarist, Jason Haist, left the band to pursue his hip-hop career.
After months of inactivity and member departures, SlowMotionNoise announced their indefinite hiatus in July 2011. However, in late October Sean stated that he has plans to revive SlowMotionNoise in 2012 as his solo/side project, bringing it back to its original state, however, no new songs have been released since 2014.

Hope and a Reason
SlowMotionNoise Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
She's standing there alone
Like a picture prefect painting of
A beautiful lost soul
Her heart
Safely locked away
She guards the shattered pieces
I reach out to her
And she follows me
This is for the perfect moments
Shattered by a broken heart
Remember that you are not alone
Don't give up, and keep on trying
You will always make it through
Coming out much stronger in the end
Her eyes
Deep and full of life
All she ever needed was
Someone to treat her right
Her lips
Thank me for the hope
That one day she will find the one
A boy she'll call her own
She's never felt alive
As she does now
This is for the perfect moments
Shattered by a broken heart
Remember that you are not alone
Don't give up, and keep on trying
You will always make it through
Coming out much stronger in the end
Remember that you are not alone
Remember that you are not alone
This is for the perfect moments
Shattered by a broken heart
Remember that you are not alone
Don't give up, and keep on trying
You will always make it through
Coming out much stronger in the end
The lyrics of SlowMotionNoise's song "Hope and a Reason" are about a woman who is standing alone against the sky, guarding her shattered heart from the one who caused her pain. The song describes her as a beautiful lost soul, with her heart safely locked away. However, the singer reaches out to her and she follows him. The song is a reminder that even when someone's heart is broken and they feel alone, they should not give up and keep trying. Moreover, the lyrics describe how the woman has never felt alive as she does now, thanking the singer for giving her hope that one day she will find the one whom she could call her own.
The lyrics of "Hope and a Reason" are a poignant reminder of the importance of hope and perseverance in the face of adversity. The song acknowledges the pain caused by a broken heart, but also encourages the listener to keep moving forward, taking comfort in the fact that they are not alone. The lyrics are also a powerful tribute to the capacity of love to heal and to bring new hope and joy to a person's life.
