Wasting Time
Slugg-O Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Funny how things work out
Feel like I'm back in the same place where I started
You got everything figured out
So go ahead just do you
I know you'll miss me when it's all threw
They always do
I'm done wasting my time
Wasting my time
On someone not serious about me
I'm done wasting my time
Done wasting my time
Wasting my time on you
Could've been one a kind
But you dont put me first
I got too much self love
So I know this gon hurt
Don't wanna feel alone
But I think this too much
You fight me on the daily you get loud an cuss
I may not be perfect girl
I am who I am
I can not change for no one
So you gotta understand
My momma done raised me a man
She taught me well so I can not waist more of my time on you
I'm done wasting my time
Wasting my time
On someone not serious about me
I'm done wasting my time

Done wasting my time
Wasting my time on you

Overall Meaning

In this song, Slugg-O sings about being tired of investing time and energy into someone who doesn't reciprocate the same level of interest. The lyrics suggest that despite feeling like he's been in this position before, he's ready to move on and prioritize himself. Slugg-O acknowledges that the other person may realize what they're missing out on after the fact, but he's committed to not wasting any more time on someone who isn't serious about him. He points out that they could've had something special, but their lack of effort ultimately caused the relationship to fail. The verses detail some of the conflicts that contributed to the decision to end things, including the other person's tendency to argue and disregard Slugg-O's feelings. Ultimately, he realizes that he can't change who he is for anyone and that he deserves someone who values him in the same way he values himself.

I say "It's gonna be a good day, Tater" literally every single day of my life lmao

@travdasav8829

Ron White is my favorite.

@lisafanninghowe

The best Sluggo story!

@CorvusOfMellori

"GONNA BE A GOOD DAY TATER!!"

@cpresto2

Everytime I eat candy I say "gonna be a good day" ever since I heard this joke

@gorehammer42o

When gettin sauced on stage meant just drinkin whiskey and telling jokes. These were the good comic days man. Now everyone just HAS to offend everyone to be funny. I love it, don't get me wrong, but I do miss the wholesome comics like White, and older Joe Pera.

@joetoft3428

As a comedian myself, I completely agree with you. Our job is to relate to you through humor, even though our lives are completely different. There isn't a form of comedy with such Purity like drinking and telling jokes. Its like theses days, their version of clever comedy is just filling in sentences with " Edgier" words. Comedy is relevant through relation.

@Prof_Tickles92

Or if they had to offend they went after people in power.

@normmcdonald7312

Lmao wholesome. 🤣 this bit was about jerking off the dog 😂

@PChamileon97

you know what would be evil?

Ron takes Sluggo to the Vet, Sluggo goes “YES, SIR!!!”
