The band was formed in 1995 by Christian Neuburger (vocals, guitar), Matthias Neuburger (drums), Rainer Schaller (guitar) and Gerd Rosenacker (bass guitar). After they had recorded their first album, René Arbeithuber (keyboard, vocals) joined.
From 1997 to 1998 they lived and recorded in a castle near Ingolstadt with René and Rainer's band, 'Pelzig'.
In February 2005 they took part in the Bundesvision Song Contest, playing their song 'Why Pourqoui?' They received few votes and finished twelfth out of sixteen competitors.
Slut was asked to do the musical support for an adaption of "Die Dreigroschenoper" (The Threepenny Opera) by the theater of Ingolstadt. After several successful showings they decided to record the whole music, but due to copyright problems (the Weill-Foundation holds the rights until 2020) Slut could only release an EP with 5 songs on it, including the popular song "Die Moritat von Mackie Messer"(Mack the Knife).
So far Slut is yet to appear live in Britain or the USA, despite several extensive European tours to Romania, The Czech Republic, Italy and France.
2) Second band called Slut was born in 1991. The band is from Prague (Czech Republic) and belongs to founders of Czech noise / hardcore.
Discography:
Sex Sucks (Scrape Sound, 1993)
Get Some Slut...Or Fuck Yourself (Scrape Sound, 1994)
Smell Me (PolyGram / Scrape Sound, 1996)
Luftganja (Indies Records, 1999)
Now they are preparing a new album.
3) A third band called Slut is actually an avant-garde collective of New York and Japanese musicians and improvisers, with a self-titled cd released in 1993 on God Mountain records. Musicians involve included Bradford Reed, Elliott Sharp, Zeena Parkins, Steve Ito, Acheilux, Marc Ribot, Jane Scarpntoni, Mark Anthony Thompson and Hoppy Kinayama. It's noteable for being one of the earliest cd's to feature the unusual acoustic sounds of Reed's invented pencillina instrument, and Acheilux's uniquely androgynous vocals.
Wasted
Slut Lyrics

Patient and deliberate
There's nothing left that we don't understand
Take one last breath for levitation
Lay down here right next to me
I'm givin' up
I've given all I can
Wasted boys on wasted leisure
If only they would tell us who we are
I'm tongue-tied, I'm exhausted baby
Creeping on the bottom line
We're average members of an average kind
A thousand ways to waste our days have
Changed into a one-way-track
I'm givin' up
Like dumb, like deaf, like blind
We waste our love on wasted matters
Waste ourselves until we're splattered
If only they would tell us who we are
Wasted years on wasted pleasure
Wasted boys on wasted leisure
If only they would tell us who we are
The first stanza of "Wasted" by Slut tells the story of two people who have become desensitized and no longer find pleasure in anything. The references to being "settled like on medication" and "patient and deliberate" suggest a state of numbness and apathy. The line "there's nothing left that we don't understand" may indicate a sense of resignation, as if they have finally come to terms with the fact that they will never achieve true happiness. The singer then invites their companion to "lay down here right next to me", perhaps as a futile attempt to find comfort in their shared misery.
The second stanza takes a more critical tone, as if the singer is addressing a larger societal issue. The repetition of the word "wasted" highlights the theme of squandered potential, whether it be in the form of pleasure, leisure time, or love. The line "if only they would tell us who we are" suggests a lack of identity or purpose, as if everyone is simply going through the motions without really understanding why. The final lines of the stanza ("like dumb, like deaf, like blind") further reinforce this sense of aimlessness and indifference.
The chorus repeats the idea of wasted time and energy, with a particular focus on the toll it takes on individuals. The use of the word "splattered" implies a sense of destruction or violence, as if the singer and their peers are self-destructing due to their inability to find fulfillment.
Overall, "Wasted" speaks to a universal feeling of disillusionment and despair. The song highlights the danger of becoming complacent and accepting a life of unfulfillment, as well as the importance of finding purpose and meaning in one's existence.
