Afterlife
Smaxone Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Wake me up in front
Of an angels eyes
I'm now so far away
Please decide to guide
Me to my surprise
I'll hold on
I'll stand by
Take me to a planet
So far outside
Then I won't crack
I won't hide
I will not hide

Mindtrap, unfolding
Inside the places
I've never seen
I'm now, I try to find
Reasons for me to stay so
Tell me how I will know
If this is afterlife
Break me, to take me
To make me realize

Striking lightnings in the sky
Now it's my turn to seek
And find what you hide
I'd like to go
Striking lightnings in the sky
Now it's my turn to seek
And find what you hide
I'd like to go there

Know me when I reach you with no disguise
Now that I've come so far
Touch me just to know that I'm by your side
Then I'll stay, then I won't die

Mindtrap, unfolding
Inside the places
I've never seen
I'm now, I try to find
Reasons for me to stay so
Tell me how I will know
If this is afterlife
Break me, to take me
To make me realize

Striking lightnings in the sky
Now it's my turn to seek
And find what you hide
I'd like to go
Striking lightnings in the sky
Now it's my turn to seek
And find what you hide
I'd like to go there

We try but I can go
Without your guidance
Feels like you're flying
But you're outside inside
How can I find you
When this place is so distant
How do I find you
When you're so far away

Tell me how I will know
If this is afterlife
Break me, to take me
To make me realize

Striking lightnings in the sky
Now it's my turn to seek
And find what you hide
I'd like to go
Striking lightnings in the sky
Now it's my turn to seek

And find what you hide
I'd like to go there

The lyrics of the song reveal that the singer is in a state of confusion and uncertainty as they try to find meaning in their existence beyond the physical world. Throughout the song, the singer seeks guidance and direction, pleading to be awakened in front of an angel's eyes who will take them to a planet so far outside. @MrCraigfess

I don't understand what drugs you need to use in order for your brains to start working like this and producing such beautiful music, it's amazing.

@PseudoMystic

Been looking for this album for many years, thank you

WHAT A GEM !!

@mnemic9564

This is an insanely good but obscure album. Thanks to you and 7Uterus, I've found another gem to add to my collection of niche industrial metal. This is up there with Raunchy, Mnemic, Shadow Domain, Sybreed, Zeromancer, Obsydians, Strapping Young Lad, Fear Factory, Arkaea, and Threat Signal. This kind of music is so niche and so hard to come by but this is a true gem. Where did you find this album? The record label is dead and this album isn't on streaming sites. It's a shame. I'd like to get a copy of this somehow, be it online or not.

Seriously, this fits right in with my tastes to a T. I wish I could find more Gary Numan / Fear Factory cyber industrial sounds like this, ones that sound unique. Metalcore isn't cutting it, it needs to be metal like this

@Unexysted

Came across Smaxone when searching for other projects of the Mnemic members. And yeah, It's hard to buy albums like this from official sources these days. Raunchy, Sybreed & Disarmonia Mundi pretty much are the zenith of modern metal, and my most beloved bands for years now. You might wanna check out Mechina (Especially the Xenon album), Clawerfield, Nakaruga, Breach The Void, Blood Stain Child & the early material from Engel. The best Industrial soundscapes in metal, besides Sybreed, definitely belong to Alex Rise from Tyrant Of Death, guy is a genius. His side-project Kunstzone is the most extreme Industrial Death known to mankind.

If you happen to have missed it; I made a Cyber/Industrial playlist which packages all the good stuff. Take care and cheers my dude o/
