FIGHT
Smile Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

You're so into this news thing
On the the TV set
I don't know why you care
When wheel of fortune is on next

We could watch yuppy families
Playing for great prizes
We could forget about this fucked up world
While TV blinds us

You're so into your game shows on the TV set
When we could watch the world explode tonight on channel ten

We could watch fucked up families

As they fuck each other
We could forget about the good things in this world together

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Smile's song "Fight" address the idea of escapism through watching television. The singer questions why someone is so invested in watching the news when there are shows that offer entertainment and distraction from the world's problems. The line "I don't know why you care when Wheel of Fortune is on next" suggests that the singer sees the news as a distraction from the more enjoyable things in life, like game shows.

The song then goes on to suggest that the couple could watch shows like "yuppy families playing for great prizes" or "fucked up families as they fuck each other" instead of focusing on the problems of the world. The line "while TV blinds us" indicates that the singer sees television as a way to escape from reality and ignore the issues that exist.

Overall, the lyrics of "Fight" speak to the idea of finding comfort and distraction in entertainment, even when the world is full of problems. The singer seems to be questioning whether or not this is a healthy way to cope with the hardships of life.

@gorrow1990

It still amazes me how well this movie works as a horror movie and as an evaluation on how trauma can affect people and lead them to harming themselves or others.

This is probably one of the scariest movies I watched. Not just because of the gore and jumpscares, but the smiles were just terrifying 😳. After the movie whenever i saw someone smile it gives me flashbacks 😰😰😰

I’m not a fan or horror movies and only seen a couple in my lifetime. Smile was the first one I had ever seen in theaters. I liked how it wasn’t just blood and gore but eerie in a psychological aspect. I found this monster to be goofy looking and comical, yet lowkey terrifying lol. I remember going home feeling creeped out, I couldn’t see another smile for a week lol.

@yoshi314

that's what makes a good movie. after Blair Witch i could not force myself to go into a forest for a while.
