Consecuencias
Smitten Lyrics

Si me odias como nunca me has amado
Fuimos prisioneros del maldito desengaño
Donde uno y uno es tres y a veces cuatro
Pero fue sin saber las consecuencias de todo
Yo solo y vos también porque nunca supimos
Querer, yeah
El solo, ella también
Porque nunca pudieron querer, yeah
The lyrics to Smitten's song Consecuencias convey a sense of longing and regret over a failed relationship. The singer describes himself as a "strange guy" who misses the person he once loved and tried not to disappoint, even though he was constantly let down. The chorus suggests that both parties were equally to blame for the relationship's demise, as they never knew how to truly love each other.
The first verse highlights the irony of missing someone who has hurt you repeatedly. The singer acknowledges that he has failed in his attempts to avoid letting his loved one down, but also acknowledges that they have failed him just as much. However, he realizes that neither of them understood the consequences of their actions, leading to their current state of loneliness.
The second verse further emphasizes the confusion and mixed emotions surrounding the relationship. The singer expresses his hatred for someone he once loved, while also acknowledging that if that person now hates him, it must be because they never truly loved him in the first place. He concludes that they were both prisoners of disillusionment, where the relationship became a battle of one-upmanship, rather than a partnership built on love and mutual respect.
Overall, Consecuencias is a powerful and introspective song that delves into the complexities of relationships, self-reflection, and growth.
