Perder La Fe
Smitten Lyrics

The song "Perder La Fe" by Smitten is a powerful and emotional portrayal of a person who has lost their faith in life. The lyrics express the feelings of hopelessness and despair that come with experiencing a broken heart and life's difficulties. The first verse speaks of a person who returns with no direction, trying to forget the nightmare they experienced without ever waking up from it. They carry the burden of thinking that nothing will ever be the same again. The repetition of the phrase "porque vivió tristezas" (because they lived sadness) emphasizes the weight of these hardships.
In the second verse, the lyrics show that the person tried to find help but couldn't. They spent time with the harsh companion of loneliness, cried over impossible-to-forget memories, and carry wounds that will never heal. The chorus repeats with more depth, "porque vivió violencia, porque ganó pobreza" (because they lived violence because they gained poverty), leading up to the climax "y acaba de perder la fe" (and just lost faith). The final lines of the song detail all that the person has experienced, including a war in their heart and the train of life passing them by. The lyrics express the finality of a person's loss of faith in life.
