UFO
(A. McDonald/C.Mitchell)

I just don't wanna be lonely
Cause the lights were shining ever so bright
In my hand there?s a pulse of my beating heart
I'm biting my tongue there's a plastic man on the telephone
Can you see the bright lights shining I don't know
Can you see the bright light shining, shining....

I saw a UFO but nobody believes me
I was 16 miles from home with nobody in sight
I saw a UFO but nobody believes me
And what?s it gonna take to get me back home tonight.

Can you see the bright light shining I don't know
Is it a reflection of anyone, the big glow
And tell me this is all good, and you say, I don't know
I'm very, very far from home.

I saw a UFO but nobody believes me
I was 16 miles from home with nobody in sight

I saw a UFO but nobody believes me
And what?s it gonna take to get me back home tonight.

Overall Meaning

Sneaky Sound System's song "UFO" is an interesting and thought-provoking piece. The song is expressing the singer's fear of being alone, and how the bright lights coming from a UFO they saw assuages this fear. The singer is biting their tongue, implying that there may be something they wish to say but are holding back. The lyrics suggest a sense of confusion as to whether or not the lights are reflective of someone or something, and this is further highlighted by the lines "Can you see the bright light shining I don't know/Is it a reflection of anyone, the big glow." The singer then questions whether or not everything is alright, with the line "And tell me this is all good, and you say, I don't know/I'm very, very far from home."

Throughout the song, there is a sense of disconnection and isolation, as seen with the line "I was 16 miles from home with nobody in sight" and the singer's fear of being alone. The UFO metaphor can be seen as representative of something foreign, unknown, and potentially frightening. Despite seeing the UFO, the singer feels unseen and unheard, with "nobody believing" them. Overall, the song expresses a sense of fear, confusion, and alienation.

I love Sneaky Sound System. No mainstream exposure, still slaying the scene. They make emotional electronic songs.

@colddaze6680

Lol no mainstream exposure? ..they were on big music music festivals to morning show or two on TV . Maybe a little less then some bigger acts ,but they had some good exposure. Faded out the lime light cause they stopped making music basically.
