Rebel Way
Snoop Lion Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

There's so much death, there's
So much destruction, and so
Much mayhem and there's so
Much misunderstanding in music
We're losing so many great musicians
And we don't love them while they're here
And I want to be loved while I'm here
And the only way to get love is to give love

You can’t run away, run away
You gotta face this
You can’t run away, run away
You gotta face this time is moving fast
Can’t dwell on the past
Make this moment last
While we have the chance
Old dreams look fake for the new one's made
Nothing stays the same do it the rebel way

From moonlight to sunrise day in and day out
I stay on my modus operandi
Opening my third eye
Focus on the words I say
Man stand a diligent, militant
With the sentiment, I’m here to represent
Constant changes like passing raises
Evident, the time we spend is sacred

You can’t run away, run away
You gotta face this
You can’t run away, run away
You gotta face this time is moving fast
Can’t dwell on the past
Make this moment last
While we have the chance
Old dreams look fake for the new one's made
Nothing stays the same do it the rebel way

We still drop it hardcore
Nuff of them can’t take it
When the lion roar
We no take no shorts, tell 'em we want more
Now it’s time to settle the score
For all of my people in
The ghetto streets reppin
And all who feel they've been stepped on
Love is the cure and courage is the weapon
You can use to overcome

You can’t run away, run away
You gotta face this
You can’t run away, run away
You gotta face this time is moving fast
Can’t dwell on the past
Make this moment last
While we have the chance
Old dreams look fake for the new one's made
Nothing stays the same do it the rebel way

Do it the rebel way do it the rebel way
Do it the rebel way do it the rebel way
Do it the rebel way do it the rebel way
Do it the rebel way do it the rebel way
Do it the rebel way do it the rebel way

Do it the rebel way do it the rebel way
Do it the rebel way

Overall Meaning

In "Rebel Way," Snoop Lion sends a message of self-empowerment and resilience to listeners. The track encourages individuals to confront their struggles and face them head-on rather than finding ways to escape or avoid them. The chorus echoes this sentiment: "You can't run away, run away. You gotta face this." Snoop Lion acknowledges that time is fleeting and that individuals should make the most of the present moment. Instead of dwelling on the past, he advises embracing change and creating new dreams. Doing things the "rebel way" implies challenging the status quo and taking ownership of one's choices and destiny.

The verses of the song further reinforce the messages in the chorus. Snoop reflects on his personal philosophy of living each day consciously and critically, stating that he seeks to open his "third eye" and remain aware of the world around him. He also references social and political issues that might weigh on individuals and lead them to feel trapped or helpless. However, Snoop stresses that love and courage can be powerful tools for overcoming these challenges. He encourages listeners to speak up and demand more for themselves and their communities while also cultivating an inner sense of strength.

Overall, "Rebel Way" is a call to action for individuals to take control of their destiny, embrace change, and take a stand for what they believe in. Snoop Lion's lyrics are both introspective and inspiring, urging listeners to tap into their inner strength and live their lives in a way that aligns with their values.

So many good tracks on Reincarnated but people judge negatively this album because of Snoop changing his name. People have bad taste in music. The album is one of the greatest albums of all times. People should appreciate that he did something different instead of complaining for no reason.

@Alex Rodriguez your one of the people that is complaining for no reason. This is one of the best albums ever you don't know music obviously and how is this not Reggae when his inspiration from this album came from Jamaica he spent time with Bob Marley relatives and Wife from Wailers. He went into exile to change his music style and spiritually. There is a Movie Documentary of what I'm talking about. So look that up before you Reincarnated is pop music.
