Tired Of Running
Snoop Lion Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

I'm sittin on my porch watchin' the law
As they ride past in they patrol cars
So tell me why I feel like the enemy
They supposed to be here protectin' me
I might have went too far
Helpin' to contribute to makin' their job hard
Servin' fiends like these people ain't no kin to me
I can't believe I'm out here killin' my community
If you knew how far I came (far I came)
From where I am and where I used to be (where I used to be)
I don't want it, you can tell by the look at me
This gangsta life ain't no longer in me

And I'm tired of the runnin', tired of the runnin'
Tired of the runnin', runnin' from the law
Baby you gotta believe me
Said I'm tired of the runnin', tired of the runnin'
Tired of the runnin', runnin' from the law
Baby ya gotta believe me

I know there's things I could've changed girl
I know there's things I could've done a lot better
Instead I'm in the streets tryin' to make that cheddar
Thinkin' in my mind that you gon' be there forever
I know I could've let it all go (let it all go)
But I was thinkin' it would make life better (make life better)
Instead I'm sittin' in this cell writin' this letter
Thought I wouldn't get caught cause I was way too clever
I learned there's no one to catch ya when ya fallin'
And they'll be no one to hear you when you're callin'
Do you know what it's like to wake up in the mornin'
While you're starvin' you're hearin' bugs crawlin'
Reminiscin' on them days you was walkin'
With pretty women on your arm while you're flossin'
Thankful that I didn't end up in a coffin
Somethin' we see too often

And I'm tired of the runnin', tired of the runnin'
Tired of the runnin', runnin' from the law
Baby you gotta believe me
Said I'm tired of the runnin', tired of the runnin'
Tired of the runnin', runnin' from the law
Baby ya gotta believe me

Said I'm tired
Said I'm tired
I said I'm tired
So tired, yeah

And I'm tired of the runnin', tired of the runnin'
Tired of the runnin', runnin' from the law
Baby you gotta believe me
Said I'm tired of the runnin', tired of the runnin'
Tired of the runnin', runnin' from the law
Baby ya gotta believe me

Said I'm tired

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Snoop Lion feat. Akon's song Tired of Running depict the inner struggle of a former gang member who is now tired of living a life of crime, constantly running from the law. The artist shares how he feels like an enemy as he watches the law go by and how he has contributed to making their job harder by serving people who are no kin to him. He expresses how he cannot believe that he is killing his community by dealing with drugs and supporting the gangster lifestyle.

Despite how far he has come from where he used to be, he no longer wants to live that life as the gangsta life isn't in him anymore. He understands that he could have done things better and differently, but he is now sitting in a cell writing a letter because he has been caught. He learned that there is no one to catch you when you're falling, and you'll be nobody to hear you when you're calling.

Overall, the song Tired of Running is an honest and authentic portrayal of the inner struggles of a former gangster who is now tired of running from the law and living a life of crime.

I support Snoop. I mean, he's gotten older now, and he has right to change, he's been in the business for quite a while being a rapper, and now he changed because he now preaches peace. The song speaks for itself man... I love whatever music he'll make in the future, and I love music he made in the past.

@willshene6979

you know this is Akons song right? haha

@anonymousperson872

You analyzed his situation incorrectly. Don't try to understand people's lives that you've never met.
