Shut Your Eyes
Snow Patrol Lyrics
Shut your eyes and think of somewhere
Somewhere cold and caked in snow
By the fire we break the quiet
Learn to wear each other well
And when the worrying starts to hurt
And the world feels like graves of dirt
Just close your eyes until
You can imagine this place
Yeah, our secret space, at will
Shut your eyes, I spin the big chair
And you'll feel dizzy, light, and free
And falling gently on the cushion
You can come and sing to me
And when the worrying starts to hurt
And the world feels like graves of dirt
Just close your eyes until
You can imagine this place
Yeah, our secret space, at will
(Shut your eyes)
(Shut your eyes)
(Shut your eyes)
(Shut your eyes)
Shut your eyes and sing to me (shut your eyes and sing to me)
Shut your eyes and sing to me (shut your eyes and sing to me)
Shut your eyes and sing to me (shut your eyes and sing to me)
Shut your eyes and sing to me (shut your eyes and sing to me)
Shut your eyes and sing to me (shut your eyes and sing to me)

Somewhere cold and caked in snow
By the fire we break the quiet
Learn to wear each other well
And when the worrying starts to hurt
And the world feels like graves of dirt

And when the worrying starts to hurt
And the world feels like graves of dirt
Just close your eyes until
You can imagine this place
Yeah, our secret space, as well
Shut your eyes, shut your eyes,
Shut your eyes, shut your eyes
Shut your eyes and sing to me (shut your eyes and sing to me)
Shut your eyes and sing to me (shut your eyes and sing to me)
Shut your eyes and sing to me (shut your eyes and sing to me)
Shut your eyes and sing to me (shut your eyes and sing to me)

This is my favorite snow patrol song. I keep coming back to it time and time again

One of the most underrated Patrol songs.

Gary Lightbody has such a fantastic voice. So heartbreaking that he doesn't put it to good use more often. I clearly don't know all Snow Patrol songs, but this is the only one I know that I can listen to with clear conscience (because there's a bunch of really shitty ones). But this one's lovely. Almost sad it's not so well known. If Bitter Sweet Symphony by The Verve was a 10/10, this song would be about an 8.5 imo.
Brian J. Carnevale
not really. it still plays on the airwaves and has been one of their catchiest hits.

@matrixfan58 same in France this is the only song by them that was on the radio and MTV back then. Still I hear it sometimes on the radio.
