The Snowgoons started in 1999, when longtime hip-hop fans Det and DJ Illegal teamed up in order to make beats together. In 2006, the duo, whose sound is often compared to the Wu-Tang Clan, added Torben and DJ Waxwork to their lineup, and after being signed to New York-based Babygrande Records, the Snowgoons debut album, German Lager, which featured rhymes from MCs like Celph Titled, Sean Price, Jus Allah, Chief Kamachi, MED, Rasco, and Wise Intelligent, among others, hit shelves early the following year.
The Snowgoons have already released 5 albums that feature a veritable who’s who of today’s underground elite! In 2011, Snowgoons collaborated with legendary New York duo M.O.P. to release the album Sparta, as well the album Your Favorite MC, with Philly's own Reef the Lost Cauze.
Throughout the years, the buzz surrounding the Snowgoons has steadily escalated as their gritty, authentic and eclectic beats have gained recognition in both the United States, as well as within the burgeoning European Hip-Hop scene. DJ Illegal & Sicknature also represent the Snowgoons liveshow and are killing stages from Europe to U.S.A. and Canada, with artists like M.O.P., La Coka Nostra, Army of the Pharaohs, Sabac Red, and many others.
Better Day

The average rapper with all my buzz
Cuz I don't stack C-notes, ship & pack kilos
Put niggas underwater like they tryna track Nemo
I don't have a dance for the songs that I put out
My poetry is pregnancy, I conceive it and push out
Hopefully it grows into success, you cut checks
Put me on the screen, gimme green, then what's next?
City stars in the midst of living hard, plus stress
Never had an icon in hip-hop
We idolize trappers, not rappers, the Nationals that pitch rocks
We looking for a better day
We on the wrong road, looking for a better way
And once we get it then we gone
We ain't stopping, joe, we working, we gon' get it 'til we on
Yeah, we gon' get it 'til we gone
We ain't stopping, joe, we working, we gon' get it til we on
Cuz, we just looking for a better day
We on the wrong road, looking for a better way
Now the dream is my lifestyle
Buzz breakin' through, my name poppin' like Lifestyles
Same word twice, but a whole 'nother meaning
Ironic that they both might lead to some cream, and I'm ready
I been spittin' since 9
Like "gimme some time and it's finna be mine"
They ain't believe it, God bless 'em, it's no grudges
How can I hate my success I made with no budget?
Got respect from legends like Low Budget
Shared a few words with idols like Joe Budden
And tore down Rock The Bells with my brother
And I never sacrificed my heart, but I love it
We looking for a better day
We on the wrong road, looking for a better way
And once we get it then we gone
We ain't stopping, joe, we working, we gon' get it 'til we on
Yeah, we gon' get it 'til we gone
We ain't stopping, joe, we working, we gon' get it til we on
Cuz, we just looking for a better day
We on the wrong road, looking for a better way
In Snowgoons's song "Better Day," the artist reflects on his struggles and his efforts to make a name for himself in the music industry. He starts off by acknowledging that despite all the success and recognition he has received, he still feels like the average rapper. He doesn't flaunt his wealth like others do, and he doesn't promote illegal activities in his lyrics. Instead, he focuses on delivering meaningful and impactful lyrics that resonate with his audience. He compares his creative process to a pregnancy where he conceptualizes his thoughts and pushes them out, hoping they grow into success.
The artist then talks about the challenges and hardships he faced while growing up in his city. He notices that most people in his community don't have high aspirations and are content with living a mediocre life. The artist points out the irony in the fact that people idolize drug dealers instead of successful rappers. He recognizes that he may not have had any icons or role models in the hip-hop industry, but that hasn't stopped him from pursuing his dreams.
Overall, the song suggests that the artist is determined to succeed despite the odds stacked against him. He recognizes that he's on the wrong road and is constantly searching for a better way. He's aware that success won't come easy, but he's willing to work hard and never give up until he achieves his goals.
