let me in
Snowmine Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
And not to need it,
Makes me let it go.
But then you let me in,
And I don't want it.
But you made me believe it.
So do I really? Do I really?
For a moment in time?
Then you'd see that I can't be,
Your excuse for a lover.
A steep mountain to climb.
You would see.
I left my shoes under your bed
But I left my body outside.
How could I get back into this mess?
I kept telling myself the temptations would do me in.
If you could you keep it together
For a moment in time?
Then you'd see that I can't be,
Your excuse for a lover,
A steep mountain to climb.
You would see.
And I think I see this happening again
From my lonely point of view
See every time that I'm with you
I think this will happen again.
The lyrics of Snowmine's song "Let Me In" deal with the theme of love and desire, and the conflict that can arise between the two. The singer expresses his frustration with wanting someone or something but not needing it, as this makes it easier to let go. However, when the person (presumably the subject of the singer's affections) "lets him in", he finds himself believing in the possibility of a relationship. The chorus asks the question, "Do I really want this?" as the singer grapples with his conflicting feelings.
The second verse of the song deals with the idea of trying to hold onto a relationship, even though it feels like a "steep mountain to climb." The line "your excuse for a lover" implies that the person the singer is addressing is using him as a cover for a failed relationship. The singer asks the person to "keep it together" for just a moment in time, suggesting that he needs some space to figure out his own feelings.
The third verse of the song is particularly interesting, as it describes the physical act of leaving something behind (in this case, the singer's shoes under the bed) while leaving the rest of himself outside. This can be interpreted as a metaphor for the way the singer is holding back emotionally from the relationship, even though he is physically present.
Overall, "Let Me In" is a song about the complexities of love and desire, and the challenges that come with trying to navigate these emotions.

Three years ago I typed more or less a suicide note in the comments with a gun against my head. The band responded to me and I struggled for two more years but took it to heart. Here I am more happier and healthier than ever. Thank you Snowmine. -Tony U.S.A. You guys are the best. Thanks brothers.

Wow, I am so happy you’ve come out of that. Despondency is an enemy of mine yet somehow it can stick to me like fat to a mother in law. I’m in the middle of me own dark well just now but funny thing is, words of encouragement don’t seem to make me feel better for some reason but music always does. So it doesn’t surprise me music was pivotal in a memory of yours as something valuable to you. I don’t know you, but if I did, I’m sure I’d love you. 🤟

The lyrics in this song talks about how a lover is skeptical and is afraid of whole heartedly falling in love. He thinks that he is incapable of this love since he has got many frailties in him and he might just end up ruining a beautiful relationship. He knew that the temptation of falling in love would be difficult to control so he always kept distance but eventually the warmth, care and love of his partner did him in.
He wants lover to know that if she thinks from sane mind she will realize that he can’t be the one for her. He suggests that he is a lost soul and understanding him is as difficult as climbing a steep mountain. He is afraid of falling in love and be mazed up in his own web, again. But since he is so lonely in his life that whenever he is with her, all of his voids are complete and filled and he just can’t stop longing to be with her
