The most recent version of Snuff sports Duncan Redmonds still on drums and vocals, Loz Wong on guitar and vocals, Lee Batsford on bass and vocals, Dave Redmonds on trombone and Lee Murphy on keyboard.

Snuff Lyrics

Now the carnival's passed by
Still hear the laughter
Still see the smiles
The rhythms still pumping steadily
Life's remedy, a melody floating on
What a chance to behold
Let's start today
Give in, give it all
To a rhythm that's pumping steadily
Life's remedy, a melody floating on
What a chance to behold
I catch my thoughts and I pray
That love will warm your day
If life is cold and cruel
Pray love warms to you
If the seasons turn against you
The winter wind should get you down
If life is cold and cruel
Pray love warms to you
The streets are almost empty
But the rhythm echoes on
The lyrics of Snuff's song "Sunny Places" imparts a message of hope and perseverance. The song talks about the passing of a carnival, but despite its departure, the memories of the fun and happiness it brought still linger. The rhythm that echoed during the carnival still resonates in the present, and the melody of life's remedy is still floating on. This is a reminder that life moves on and that everyone should cherish the moments of happiness when they come.
The constant beat of the rhythm symbolizes the enduring nature of life, even after the carnival has left, and the possibility of hope and joy in the future. The song suggests that it's best to live in the present and seize the opportunities that come our way, rather than wait for another dawn. It also calls for spreading love and warmth to others who may be going through tough times.
Interestingly, the song uses carnival as a metaphor for life, with its fleeting nature, unpredictable events, and the inevitable passage of time. The carnival, like life, is a temporary celebration that brings people together and creates communal joy. The song implies that although happy moments may pass, the memories and the echoes of that rhythm of joy can stay with us and bring life to us even in the darkest of times.
