Soyou was a Cube Entertainment trainee before debuting with Sistar and was originally supposed to debut as a member of 4Minute. Soyou has said that she didn't make it into the group because she was lacking in many ways. She was originally supposed to be in Sohyun's place. Instead, Soyou auditioned for Starship Entertainment, singing a cover of Navi’s ‘On The Road’ and debuted as a member of Sistar. Before debuting, she was a licensed hairdresser and worked in a hair salon.

No lie, I’m pretty good at : suspension of disbelief, and it honestly made me happy seeing representation of someone on the spectrum on an international level of media. Regardless of “fantasy portrayed about autism spectrum disorder “ but it was a very well written show that definitely had some of the best writing not to mention influence from someone important to the creator.
