Formed late in 1998, Solabeat Alliance's sound was a reflection of their travels to the sunshine lands, combined with a thirst for rock. SBA drew influences from Caribbean culture through to Calypso Ska and Punk Rock. In the summer of 2002 The 'Alliance' hit the road for their longest ever headline tour playing over 70 shows including the Sound Club in Leicester Square, winning the National Battle of the Bands and getting signed to Moon Ska Europe.
Solabeat Alliance are:
* Tim - Vocals
* Paul - Guitar
* Dan - Bass
* Oli - Drums
* Rick - Saxophone
* John - Trombone
* Jeremy - Trumpet
To coincide with their support on the Nov / Dec 2002 Spunge tour, Solabeat Alliance, then known as Spankboy, released the 'Rise on Up' EP, featuring two old favourites from the now sold out 'Adventures in Blue Flash' EP, 'Tongue Tied' and 'Perfect Day', and two newer cuts 'Set it Off' and 'Summer Nights'. This 'Rise On Up' EP went down a treat on the now legendary 'Over The Moon Tour 2003', a tour featuring Solabeat Alliance as main support for Whitmore.
Since then, the band lost a bassist before spending what seemed like 3 years in the studio, working on what was rumoured to be "one of the most sensational albums ever" in the making·backed up of course with some low-key gigs to give us a taste of what's to come. With a little help from a certain Phil Johnstone producer of Led Zeppelin's Robert Plant, the album "Island Fire" was eventually finished and released in March 2004.
The end of 2003 saw Solabeat Alliance supporting NY Ska legends The Toasters, and fellow American Acoustic-Ska artist Chris Murray, on tour in the UK followed shortly by the Moon Ska Europe All Dayer "Lift Off Into 2004" at the london Carling Academy Islington.

Solabeat Alliance Lyrics

Just a second it took and now it's simplified to see,
Step back, a smile, a sense of doubt, a life,
Spent thinking is this what life is all about?
a free ride oneric calling of the,
Fellowship a song for the people who burn, we got the fire lit,
Anyway the wind blows one love still be, anyway the wind blows
All heroes on higher ground
So stop fpr a minute reject communication from the brain,
Take a step to the right you know you'll never be the same,
Cut lose a state of normality into a state that,
You thought that you could never be,
A wide eyed lunatic captain of the mothership,
Along for the ride smash it up we got the fire lit, anyway the wind blows....
Drop it in let the story begin,
You don't need no throne or crown to be king
We'll be singing as the sun goes down,
All heroes on higher ground
The lyrics to Solabeat Alliance's song Heroes speak to the power of living in the present moment and breaking away from societal norms in order to truly embrace life. The song encourages listeners to stop for a moment and take notice of the dreams they are chasing, while also questioning whether or not their current way of living is truly fulfilling them. The lyrics suggest stepping back from the routine and finding a sense of doubt and freedom that allows for a new perspective on life.
The chorus of the song, "We'll be singing as the sun goes down, all heroes on higher ground," highlights the idea that by breaking free from the norm and embracing one's own path, an individual can become a hero in their own right. The song encourages listeners to embrace their inner free spirit, to let go of the need for control, and simply enjoy the ride.
Overall, Heroes promotes a message of self-discovery, personal freedom, and living life to the fullest. It speaks to the idea that by truly embracing oneself and breaking free from societal constructs and expectations, one can lead a truly fulfilling life.
