His stratospheric rise in popularity kicked off in 2012, after a legendary first season on Ibiza with his own label-inspired Diynamic Neon Nights at Sankeys.
Here, he and his crew took up the challenge and initiated a take-over of what was becoming a clichéd scene. This first assault on the White Island brought Solomun his just-rewards in the shape of Best Producer title at the DJ Awards Ibiza and DJ of the Year from Mixmag Magazine. It follows that “Neon Nights” will continue at Sankeys again this summer, along with an own night every Sunday at Pacha/Ibiza “Solomun +1”.
Solomun loves the studio, this is clear from his output: always emotive, visceral, authentic and always promoting his reasoning that “Music is Moments”. That said, his passion for DJing can never be questioned by anyone who’s seen him in-action, all over the world. As head of Diynamic Music, he’s a consistent but still he’s not afraid to take the audience on a journey. It’s a sensual style where deepness, funkiness and human vocals go hand in hand.
Running two successful labels (Diynamic and 2DIY4), one of the most respected underground Clubs in Germany (EGO) and the Diynamic Radio Show (broadcast in over 30 countries), is a true indicator of Solomun’s deep love of music and of his people. His work ethic is managed in much the same way that he brings a variety of influences into his music: a little soft touch here, a cool dance move over there and a real, honest commitment to “Doing It Yourself”.

Watch it all fall out
Pour It Up, Pour It Up
That's how we ball out
Throw it, throw it up
Watch it all fall out
Pour It Up, Pour It Up
That's how we ball out
Strip clubs and dollar bills
I still got my money
Patron shots, can I get a refill
I still got my money
Strippers going up and down that pole
And I still got my money
Four o clock and we aint going home
Cause I still got my money
Money make the world go around
I still got my money
Bandz make your girl go down
And I still got my money
Lot mo' where dat came from
I still got my money
The minute you wise, you know you want some
I still got my money
Ohhhh
All I see is signs
All I see is dollar signs
Ohhhhh
Money on my mind
Money, money on my mind
Throw it, throw it up
Watch it fall off from the sky
Throw it, throw it up
Watch it all fall out
Pour It Up, Pour It Up
That's how we ball out
Throw it, throw it up
Watch it all fall out
Pour It Up, Pour It Up
That's how we ball out
That's how we ball out
That's how we ball out
That's how we ball out
Valet cost a hundred bills
I still got my money
Gold all up in my grill
I still got my money
Who cares how you haters feel
And I still got my money
Call J up and close a deal
I still got my money
My fragance on and they love my smell
I still got my money
So who cares about what I spend
I still got my money
My pocket's deep, and they never end
I still got my money
I'm going dumb with all my friends
I still got my money
Ohhh all I see is signs
All I see is dollar signs
Ohhhhh money on my mind
Money, money on my mind
Throw it, throw it up
Watch it fall off from the sky
Throw it, throw it up
Watch it all fall out
Pour It Up, Pour It Up
That's how we ball out
Throw it, throw it up
Watch it all fall out
Pour It Up, Pour It Up
That's how we ball out
That's how we ball out
That's how we ball out
That's how we ball out
At first glance, the lyrics of Solomun's "Midnight Snack" seem to describe a lavish, hedonistic lifestyle centered around money and material possessions. The repeated refrain of "throw it up" and "pour it up" suggests a party atmosphere, while mentions of strip clubs, dollar bills, and patron shots reinforce this hedonistic image.
However, a closer examination of the lyrics reveals a more nuanced message. The line "Money make the world go around" suggests a deep understanding of the power dynamics at play in our society. The phrase "All I see is signs / All I see is dollar signs" could be interpreted as a critique of capitalism and the way that money dominates our culture.
Furthermore, there are hints of defiance and self-assuredness throughout the song. The repeated refrain of "I still got my money" could be seen as a statement of independence and resilience in the face of societal pressures to conform. Similarly, the line "Who cares how you haters feel / And I still got my money" suggests a refusal to be affected by the opinions of others.
