We've lost it to trying
We've lost it to trying
What will we do now?
We've lost it to trying
We've lost it to trying
Our mouths only lying
Our mouths only lying
What can we say now?
Our mouths only lying
Our mouths only lying
Give in and get out
We rise in the dying
We rise in the dying
Give in and get out
We rise in the dying
We rise in the dying
Give in and get out
We rise in the dying
We rise in the dying
Give in and get out
We rise in the dying
We
What will we do now?
We've lost it to trying
We've lost it to trying
What will we do now?
We've lost it to trying
We've lost it to trying
The lyrics of Son Lux's "Lost It To Trying" speak of defeat and failure in one's life. The repeated lines of "What will we do now? We've lost it to trying." and "What can we say now? Our mouths only lying." depict a sense of hopelessness and emptiness, as if the singer has attempted to achieve something but has failed and now has nothing left to say or do. The line "Give in and get out, we rise in the dying" suggests that in surrendering, there may be a sense of rebirth or renewal. The repetition of "we rise in the dying" reinforces this idea, suggesting that sometimes one must fall in order to rise again. Overall, the lyrics have a tone of resignation to them, as if the singer has accepted their fate and is now trying to figure out what to do next.

I’m maybe being dramatic, but I’ve never wanted to cry over a song like this one. It’s not too sad or anything, it’s just so perfect that I literally want to cry listening to it lmao.
