This nightingale however draw the attention of the Flemish people in 2002, during the preselections for the Eurovision Song Contest. Her song 'All out of love' was considered one of the top ballads during the final. Despite the good comments Sonny didn't represent Belgium, but gained lots of airplay from the Flemish radio's. Hits like 'Superwoman', 'Friday night forever' and 'Don't stop movin', gained a lot of airplay but the big breakthrough never came.
Top of the bill was a car accident in which Sonny was involved. It took her a lot of time to revalidate. It was one of the reasons why she didn't take part in the Belgian preselection of 2004. In 2005, Sonny returned to the music industry with the beautiful ballad 'Sunshine'. Once again she gained a lot of airplay but a big commercial succes didn't come out.
In 2006 however, Sonny took part for the 2nd time in the Belgian preselection show with the traditional ballad 'I'll be there for you'. The shock came at the end of the night, when the votes from the audience were told. Sonny, being one of the favourites, did not reach the semi final. It was the jury however who gave her a wildcard to go through.
In the semi final it was obvious for her not to go through to the final, and she also stated that she quit her music career.

How long, I’ve been waiting for a love so tender
Hey, hey
Hey, how long, can I stay without a touch, I wonder
You you
You you
Tell me how you’ll never know a loneliness
My love
No no no
Leave me on my own
Please
Call me
Call me
Baby baby call me now
Call me
Call me baby baby
Do do do it
Baby please
Hey
I can waith
But I beg you babe, don’t lose my number
I tell you babe, call me now cause I’m losing somber
You you
You use
All my fantasie to dream
About you... Yeah
Hey, and my love
I can’t resist here all alone
Please
Call me
Call me
Baby baby call me now
Call me
Call me baby baby
Do do do it
Baby
Please
Baby baby call me now
Call me
Call me baby baby
Do do do it
Baby please
(Call me call me now, I'm whole alone)
Talk to me darling
All night long
(Call me call me baby, when you want)
When you want
Baby please, call me

Do do do it
Baby please
Call me
Call me
Baby baby call me now
Call me
Call me baby baby
Do do do it
Baby
