Première rencontre
Sophie-Tith Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Je restais seule dans ma chambre
Rêvant de celui qui viendrait
Me sortir un jour de l'enfance
Et avec qui je partirais
Loin
S'il m'avait fallu le décrire
Bien sûr je me serais trompée

Overall Meaning

In "Première rencontre," Sophie-Tith sings about waiting for the one who would come and take her away from her childhood. In the first verse, she is alone in her room, dreaming of the one who will come and take her away. She longs for someone who will help her escape the world of childhood and brng her to a new life. While she admits that she would have never been able to describe him beforehand, she already knew that what she was longing for could only be found in him.

In the second verse, she talks about how the anticipation before the concert is similar to the feeling one gets when they're in love. Everything begins to fall into place, just as the musicians do when they're warming up. She compares the feeling of anticipation to the overwhelming feeling of nausea that comes with love.

In the chorus, she sings about how he didn't appear as anything special but she knew that he was the one who would take her away from her old life. She knew that he was different from any other person in her life and that nobody else would ever be able to be him.

Overall, "Première rencontre" is about the feeling of excitement and anticipation when waiting for the person who is going to change one's life forever. The song is a testament to the way that those who we end up loving aren't always the people we would expect, but rather, they're the ones that take us to a new life.
