So Long You Fool
Sophie Milman Lyrics

Gave my heart to you
Thought we were one but now we're two
Goodbye farewell so long you fool
Thought that I'd feel blue
All my life I've cried it's true
Now I'm happy to be rid of you
The stars knew exactly what you do to me
Gave me the moon you would do
Might have played a trick on me
Was the fool
Now we're through
Can't get me far enough away from you
No more tears for me
All alone and who cares I am free
No more my heart will pine for you
Goodbye farewell so long you fool
The stars knew exactly what you do to me
Gave me the moon you would do
Might have played a trick on me
Was the fool
Now we're through
Can't get me far enough away from you
No more cares for me
All alone who cares I am free
No more my heart will PINE for you
Goodbye farewell so long
Good luck, adieu, I'm gone
Goodbye farewell so long, you fool
The song "So Long You Fool" by Sophie Milman is a breakup song about finally breaking free from a toxic relationship. The opening lines of the song set the tone for the rest of the lyrics, as the singer reflects on the early stages of the relationship when she gave her heart to her partner. However, as the relationship progressed, she realizes that they are no longer united as one. It could be that she was cheated on or lied to by her partner, leading to a broken trust in their relationship.
The chorus of the song reveals the singer's true feelings as she bids farewell to her partner, who she calls a "fool." She is relieved and even happy to be rid of her partner, indicating that the relationship was more of a burden than a source of joy or comfort. The singer's state of mind is clear when she says that she no longer cries or pines for her partner, indicating that she has finally moved on.
The song's lyrics suggest that the singer was aware of the problems in the relationship but still held onto the illusion that things could be fixed. However, after spotting some red flags or getting hurt one too many times, she finally realizes that it's time to let go.

I first heard this song in like 2011 during a Christmas glade plug in commercial and I was so mad I couldn’t find it. It took months because I didn’t have a smart phone yet and had nothing much to go on. Once I did find it and her I fell in love.
