I'm gonna turn your power into will
I'm gonna turn your will into power
You can use this power as your drill
If it hurts you in the morning scream a little louder
And I will come running under
And you'll be my mirror ahha
I'm gonna turn your power into will
I'm gonna turn your will into power
You can use this power you can use
If it hurts you in the morning scream a little louder
And I will come running under
And you'll be my mirror ahha
I'm gonna turn your fear into power
I'm gonna turn your power into will
I'm gonna turn your will into power
You can use this power as your drill
If it hurts you in the morning scream a little louder
And I will come running under
And you'll be my mirror ahha
If it hurts you in the morning scream a little louder
And I will come running under
And you'll be my mirror ahha...
If it hurts you in the morning scream a little louder
And I will come running under
And you'll be my mirror ahha
The lyrics in Sophie Moleta's song "Octave War" are about empowering someone who is afraid or weak. The singer is telling this person that she will help them turn their fear into power, and their power into the determination to move forward. She tells them that they can use this newfound power as a "drill" to achieve their goals. The phrase "If it hurts you in the morning scream a little louder" suggests that this process of transformation will not be easy, and there may be setbacks or pain along the way, but the singer promises to be there to support them through it.
The repetition of the chorus emphasizes the message of empowerment and support. The use of the words "mirror" and "under" suggest a strong connection between the singer and the person she is empowering. The metaphor of the person becoming the singer's "mirror" suggests that they see each other as reflections of one another, and that the singer is invested in their success. By promising to "come running under," the singer is emphasizing her commitment to helping this person overcome their fear and succeed.
