Come
Sophie Monk Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Alone again
Alone, my friend
I dance the night away
Without you here
Without you near
I cry, but shed
no tears
I get, I get, I get, get the feeling
I get, I get, I get, get the dreaming
and I know you feel it, too

Come my way
Calling out, can you hear me?
Come back to me
'Cause it's you I believe in
I will love you
I will love you
I call out
and I know you can hear me
So come my way

I close my eyes
I fall through time
I dance the night away
I know that I've
Been paid in kind
It's just a state of mind

I get, I get, I get, get the feeling
I get, I get, I get, get the dreaming
And I know you feel it, too

Come my way
Calling out, can you hear me?
Come back to me
'Cause it's you I believe in
I will love you
I will love you
I call out
and I know you can hear me
So come my way

Oooh
Ooooh-oh
I'm calling out
Can you hear me,now?

I get, I get, I get, get the feeling
I get, I get, I get, get the dreaming
And I know you feel it, too

Oooooh-oh-oh-ohhhhhh
*Come my way
Calling out, can you hear me?
Come back to me
'Cause it's you I believe in
I will love you
I will love you
I call out
and I know you can hear me
So come my way

*repeat

"come" is my absolute FAVORITE Inuyasha ending song ever since I was a little kid. I know the english lyrics, the japanese lyrics, and I can sing it (albeit not well at ALL XD) without the song playing. I never knew it was a cover for this girl's song, I thought maybe SOPHIE had done a cover since Inuyasha is so old, but I was wrong, and this girl deserves SO MUCH RESPECT for inspiring Namie :D Not to mention this song is so good no matter who sings it or what language it's in :D

@docd1o1

You need to know this is the original but was re-worked and re-written into Japanese for Inuyasha and Namie Amuro.

@TriereGorum

Ok, seriously? This is the original version. This one came out first. Namie Amuro's version is the cover song. Let's not get confused.

@TriereGorum

xamarria mock The Japanese version was not first. The song "Come My Way" was COVERED by Japanese pop star Namie Amuro (her version was titled "Come") in Japanese. It was released first as a single on 14 October 2003 and on the album Style on 10 December of the same year. "Come" is actually a COVER of Australian pop singer, Sophie Monk's "Come My Way and was used as an ending theme to the anime series InuYasha.

@TriereGorum

xamarria mock Yes, Wikipedia is saying the Japanese version is the cover. It's where I got the information above from. It clearly says on both Sophia and Namie's Wikipedia pages, that Namie's/japanese version is the cover. Sophie's album with her single "Come My Way" came out in March 2003 and was a single before the album came out. Namie's cover version, "Come" became a single and came out in October 2003 while her album came out in December. That's eight months later AFTER Sophie. That means the Japanese version was not first and was a cover of Sophie's"Come My Way", the ORIGINAL/FIRST version. Again, it says it right on Namie's "So Crazy/Come" page: "Come" is actually a cover of Australian pop singer, Sophie Monk's "Come My Way" and on Sophie's "Calendar Girl" album page it says: The song "Come My Way" was COVERED by Japanese pop star Namie Amuro (her version was titled "Come") in Japanese. The Japanese version is just more popular. There's a difference.

Your right

@Uhhhhhyeahuhhhh

My childhood is a lie.. it feels like the opposite.

Edit: still better imo ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

@LuciferXFallen290

@Triere Gorum need proof of that because Namie Amuro is GOAT

Love this. Could've and should have been a big hit for her. It is very Kylie minogue reminiscent as well.

@sarahl9398

I didn't know Sophie Monk had a singing career, much less that one of my favorite teenagehood anime/jpop songs was a cover of this! Amuro's version is epic, but this is nice too.
