Moonlight
Sophie Zelmani Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
But you left so early that morning
It's known for it's light
It's not very far
Come back to me
For the moonlight
It's so dangerous here
Love takes my time
Love makes me worry
It's not so far
To where you are
We still can meet
In the moonlight
In the moonlight
The lyrics in Sophie Zelmani's song "Moonlight" capture the essence of longing and desperation for someone who is no longer present. The opening lines of the song "I'm sure it is bright, but you left so early that morning," suggest that the individual who has left is out of reach, possibly even dead. This feeling of separation is further emphasized in the second line, "It's known for it's light, It's not very far, Come back to me," where the singer is asking the individual to return. The use of the moonlight as a theme throughout the song is a symbol of hope and a reminder of the person they long for.
The next lines, "It's so dangerous here, Love takes my time, Love makes me worry," convey a sense of danger and the struggle the singer is facing in the absence of their loved one. It could be interpreted as dealing with the void left behind by the individual, and the singer's inability to cope without them. The phrase, "Love makes me worry," resonates with this interpretation and could suggest that the love they shared was fraught with difficulties.
The final lines of the song, "It's not so far, To where you are, We still can meet, In the moonlight," encapsulate the longing for reconnection and provide hope for a reunion. The desperate plea intertwined within the lyrics reflects the intense emotions evoked by the beautiful melody of the song, making it a haunting and unforgettable piece.
