Soon Sony Sweden gave her a phone call and offered her a record deal. At this stage, she had never played in front of an audience. Sophie started to record her self-titled debut album in 1995. The album was produced and arranged by Lars Halapi, a long time collaborator who has subsequently worked on all her material.

On Your Way

In common are
Feelings we repress
I find you in the darkness
Where lightness means less
Times when we're
In need of touching
Are when tears
We are walking with pain
When we've seen
People we adore
The things we're
Calling secrets
Are usually the way in
We go to sleep
With the knowledge
That each mind has sins
Times when we are lifted
The fall feels so high
We cry over beauty
It hurts to smile
My way is your way
Your way is mine
My way is your way
Your way is mine
The lyrics of Sophie Zelmani's song "Your Way" delve into the personal and emotional aspects of relationships. The first stanza alludes to the fact that people have a lot in common, but often keep their feelings repressed. The second stanza talks about how people come together in times of need and touch, but that tears can easily precede that action. The third stanza highlights the fact that secrets are often the key to people opening up to each other, regardless of how innocent or guilty their conscience may support. The fourth and final stanza mentions that beauty is often fleeting and we cry over it because it is a reminder of how quickly it can disappear.
Overall, the song's message is about the power of relationships and how people can find solace in one another, especially during difficult times. The lyrics indicate the need for connection through touch and personal exchanges, even in the face of vulnerability and fear. Zelmani's voice is gentle and soothing, adding to the emotive power of the song.
